Reporting: Head of Underwriting and New Business

New Business

- Ensuring the New Business Processing happens within pre-defined TAT's and with Accuracy.

Vendor Management :

- Liasoning with Vendors for smooth processing & implementing new processes / Changes.

- Timely settlement of Bills. Time & Resource Management Process Re-engineering

- Provide inputs for designing of new process and re-designing of an existing process.

- Conducting UAT's for New Product Launches and EnhancementsReporting / Audit

- Monitoring of all TAT's / Audit - Internal and ISO. Handling of various MIS / IRDA reporting.

Underwriting :

- Ensuring the Underwriting of policies happens within pre-defined TAT's and with Accuracy.

- Responsible for underwriting and pricing accounts in accordance with underwriting standards.

- Has responsibility for new premium in the region on assigned producers and/or accounts.

- Ensuring processing of applications for policy issuance with internal Underwriting authority limit and approved board guidelines

- Discussion with departments like compliance, HR, operations, marketing, IT for various activities pertaining to underwriting.

Relationship Management :

- The Underwriter is responsible for several producers and/or accounts and is the primary point of contact for that producer and his or her agency personnel.

- The Underwriter is responsible for monitoring production, hit ratios, the spread of risk, and other production and quality measures.

- Relationship management with Reinsurer wrt treaty and facultative business

Process Re-engineering :

- Provide inputs for designing of new process and re-designing of the existing process.

- Conducting UAT's for New Product Launches and Enhancements.

- Ensure CFR and medical support function to run smoothly and giving support to the field personnel

- Communication to sales field on CFR,CMS, refunds including new product launch etc on timely basis

Training/Mentoring :

- Provides informal and formal underwriting training as required.

- Mentors less experienced underwriting personnel on market conditions, competitors, relationship management, etc.

- Train the batched in induction on Underwriting and issuance process

Work Exp - 10-12 years

Qualifications: Graduate/PG with specialization in pharmacy or MBBS, BAMS, BHMS from a reputed university with Insurance underwriting core expertise
