Job Title: Operations Risk & Control Management (Trade or cash)

Job Summary:
- The position would be responsible for policy determination, implementation and monitoring of Operations Risk & Control function within Global Loan Operations.
- As part of the Operations Risk & Control function, the resource would be required to partner with various Managers to understand underlying operations and recommend appropriate/ applicable risk management practices.
- The applicant will also be responsible for validating, summarizing and producing the Ops Risk / performance data for the operational domain.
- The Applicant will also support group initiatives and provide support to the line as required. Solid technical understanding of the business is expected, including knowledge of Ops Risk & Control function, Investment Banking,, financial markets and trading processes. Demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvements is required.
Responsibilities:
- Development & Implementation of the Operations Risk & Control framework, as a part of the Central Team
- Foster a robust Control environment that is knowledgeable about risk and abides by risk guidelines & controls.
- Partner with various Operations functions to identify their risk, determine applicable controls and assist in implementing risk management practices.
- Facilitate and Conduct training sessions on policies and risk related topics .
- Monitoring the effectiveness of Internal Controls & Processes.
- Facilitate implementation of Self Assessment process in various Businesses and monitor and track open issues for closure
- Ensuring all issues /actions are assigned, tracked and escalated in a timely fashion
- Partnering with onshore teams to ensure performance issues offshore are resolved effectively
- Risk and Control Monitoring & Reporting
- Audit Issue Monitoring to guide timely closure of identified Audit findings.
- Working with Performance Analysts, Transition Team and Program Management Office on incoming projects to ensure that risk and control issues are identified and covered.
- Working with Global Reporting Utility to develop Risk Reports and implement measurement/ reporting procedures.
- Fostering and maintaining communication channels .
- Participating in cross-departmental initiatives formulated to create or improve existing functionality and processes.
Primary Working Relationships:
- The individual will report to the Head, Operations Risk & Control
- The position is expected to work very closely with various Operations Managers to propose, implement, track and mitigate Opeations risk.
- The position is also expected to interface/ partner with other Risk and Control groups, onshore and offshore, to deliver a robust Risk framework structure.
Job Requirements:
- Strong English language skills required. Ability to converse /write clearly and concisely with internal and external contacts
- College degree, preferably bachelors degree in business or other quantitative fields (accountancy, mathematics, engineering, etc)
- Minimum of 7 years and/or prior related industry experience preferably in an Investment Banking environment.
- Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, service commitment, and solid organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong Operations/ Risk Management experience with exposure to control practices.
- Strong Product and Process understanding, including knowledge of investment banking products/ business.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, prioritizes multiple tasks, and meets strict deadlines.
- Ability to effectively maintain, coordinate, prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to work in shift to support other time zones if required.
- Provide effective decision making capability and leadership qualities.
