Unit Head Branch Control unit - AVP/DVP - Bank


Our Client, a Leading Private Bank is looking out for a Unit Head - Branch Control Unit urgently at AVP/ DVP - Level to be based at Mumbai.

Job Purpose:

- Unit head is responsible for all the activities, product, process, system changes, various monitoring tools and centralized request processing for the units.

- He / She needs to analyze from various angles viz. End user, Compliance/ Audit / Risk and user group. He / She is responsible for monitoring of various transactions / activities across Ops locations and departments.

- Unit head needs to evaluate the various new business proposals, products, guidelines issued by regulators, management on an continuous basis and ensure smooth implementation.

- Identify the training requirement for the staff for the new products launched and visits to branches to understand the ground level requirements and accordingly drive the team which will ensure each and every project, assignments are implemented as per the requirement.

- Unit Head is required to liaise / meet with various verticals / departments in the bank viz. Business,

- Products, Audit, HR, Finance, Compliance, IT/BPRG apart from the Operations users in various regions, Regional Branch Control Units (RBCU), Cluster/State/Regional heads.

Job Responsibilities:

Process Management:

a. Review compliance and review the process and procedures

b. Ensure procedures released have clarity and awareness amongst the users.

c. Review Manual processes to increase Automation thereby reducing Risk / Cost in Operations.

d. Review the UAT carried out for System Enhancements.

e. Ensure Procedures released comply with the regulatory requirements.

f. Ensure standardization of processes followed for activities across locations

g. Review of Projects and Guidance to Team

System Enhancements:

a. Review user requirements and guide team for development in system

b. Review system requirements with Users, RBCU, Audit

c. Review UAT carried out by Team and guide for changes if required

d. Review impact of system enhancements on Time and Motion

Projects:

a. Understand the pain area in operations processing

b. Ascertain impact on WBO processes

c. Raise issues & concerns for clarity with seniors

d. Liaise with Product, IT, Audit for sign-off

e. Review for implementation for WBO with clear guidelines

- Interaction with Other Business Units

a. Represent Wholesale Banking Ops with other Business Groups

b. Regular Interaction with seniors to proactively understand their requirements / resolve issues.

Branch Visits:

a. Visit Branches to Review Processes

b. Review Time and Motion timings basis ground reality

c. Review Best Practices which can be implemented across locations.

Branch Monitoring:

a. Review Branch Performance via Audit / Process Audit /Concurrent Audit report

b. Review process changes basis feedback from Audit /process Audit

c. Review of suspense accounts to ensure process compliance

d. Review of Frauds and re-engineer processes to curtail gaps if any.

e. Cost Monitoring for Branches

f. Tracking of Visits for Branch seniors

g. Review / Compilation of Scorecard for Operations

h. Review / Compilation of Norming for Operations

Team Management:

a. Leave Management

b. Monitoring of Training

c. Performance Appraisal

d. Employee Counselling

e. Scorecard / Norming
