AVP/Associate

The Risk division is responsible throughout the Group for management and control of all credit, market and operational risks, and the function of the Risk division consists in managing, reinforcing and protecting the Bank's capital, integrity and reputation by making a solid structure and supportive infrastructure available. Its purpose is to optimize the Bank's current infrastructure by managing global risk functions from a single location.

The Operational Risk Management (ORM) mandate is to:

- Define the Group Operational Risk Management, Product Governance and Reputational Risk Frameworks

- Determine and recommend for approval - OR Appetite/Tolerance, OR Strategy and Management Plan for the Group

- Determine OR Capital for the Group and allocations to Divisions

- Challenge the optimization of OR Capital and business strategies

- Manage the Group Operational Risk Profile through independent review, challenge, escalation, and veto

The ORM Quality Controls Team is reviewing Operational Risk deliverables from bank to either feed AMA capital production or support risk management decisions. These deliverables encompass operational risk event descriptions in the system, Lessons Learned performed, Key Risk Indicator Specification Sheets, Scenarios etc. The team is based in Mumbai and Berlin.

Responsibilities / Tasks

- Quality control of delivered data in accordance with set criteria and according to set timelines (e.g. ORM capital production plan)

- Logging results in a central sheet (QC Monitor)

- Coordination and response to inquiries from business divisions and operational risk managers regarding quality issues

- Delivering training, as required, on quality issues identified

- Initiation of and cooperation in improving existing processes and workflows as well as independent implementation of new processes

- Ensuring uniform communication towards business divisions on results of quality control performed (email, phone communication)

- Preparation of quarterly results in form of presentations and reports

- Regular attendance of scheduled meetings and telephone conferences, e.g. presentations of work results to senior decision-makers/workgroups, partly also processing of meetings and telephone conferences (agenda, keeping the minutes)

- Support with urgent activities at short notice, including support of projects

- Cooperation regarding inquiries from auditors and regulators

- Escalation management

Business inputs in the scope of Quality Control in Mumbai:

- Annual review of KRI Specification Sheet

- Quarterly review of Internal Scenarios

- Quarterly assurance of the OpData Exclusion

- Quarterly review ORX Business Line Mapping

- Annual review Coverage Analysis

Experience / Exposure

- Experience with managing to deadlines & ensuring adherence to regulatory / audit requirements

- Experience in Risk Management, Risk Controlling, Risk Operations preferable

- More than three years of professional work experience

Competencies:

- Willingness to learn and acquire deep subject-matter knowledge of ORM processes

- Ability to handle internal audit and regulatory inquiries

- Ability to prepare, participate/lead and document discussions & build relationships with multiple stakeholders (business and Risk)

- Able to work as part of an international team, but also self-reliant

- Good communication and project management skills

- Good working experience in MS Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Word knowledge)

- Very good eye for detail, numerically literate and accurate with numbers

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

- Personal characteristics:

Education / Certification/ Skills

- University degree preferably in banking, finance, economics, Business Administration
