Senior Technical Architect for AVAYA R&D @ Pune - (IC Leadership role)

We at Avaya, looking for Java Architects to join our Furture makers team at Pune R&D Lab.

Our Pune R&D Lab is heart of innovation and Avaya has approximately 5,900 patents and pending patent applications!!

What you will be doing :

- The Technical Architect is responsible for the overall technical design and implementation of various applications. The technical architect should have a full solution view of the Avaya Solutions offering.

- The Technical Architect works as a team member along with other technical managers and developers to build and deliver a compelling solution that address the customer's needs. The solution is meant for Enterprise and Mid-market segment.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Technology roadmap for the product. Suggest technological updates and help technology evaluation. Choose the best technology for implementation.

- Product Roadmap : Produce a functional and technical specification of customer requirement.

- Product Quality : Ensure adoption of appropriate quality processes and implementation of the same. Be accountable for design and code quality of the product.

- Partner with engineering managers towards successful (quality and time) delivery of the projects.

- Hands on implementation along with other team members or alone depending on the need and the scope

- Keep a view of upcoming technology relevant to Avaya's business and create a plan to leverage it.

- Evangelist / Guide / Mentor team member with the aim of creating a vibrant technical community.

- Drive innovation and patents in the team

- Will be the spokesperson of the team from the perspective of product architecture and technology. Will externally represent the Product.

What you should have :

- Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in C/C++ or Java. Experience in cloud technologies and comfortable in a dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization.

- Bachelor of Engineering/technology with 18+ yrs engineering experience with strong experience in Telephony/VOIP/SIP/ Unified communications/ Contact center field.

- Candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment.

- Candidate should be able to handle multiple priorities.

Desired Skills and Experience :

- Exceptional Bachelor's degree qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science or Engineering

- Experience in Telephony, unified communications, contact center field.

- Product development experience (whole life cycle, requirements -functional spec - Design - Implementation-code reviews / testing. Agile development experience).

- We are looking for a candidate with hands on design and implementation experience.

- Should have experience in patent filing process, ideally with their own patents awarded.

- Experience in developing products optimized for performance / scale. (standard practices, performance characterization, debugging)
