Associate Vice President - Retail Analytics - IIT/IIM/ISB/XLRI (8-15 yrs)

Associate Vice President - Retail Analytics - IIT/IIM/ISB/XLRI

- The position requires the ability to combine data analysis, statistical modeling & machine learning modelling, data visualization and communication in order to deliver high impact results via a high performing dual shore team

- Dual shore project management, coordination of all sub-team efforts, both onsite and offsite

- Strong communications, including deck writing

- Facilitation and gathering of client feedback on problem structuring

- Management of frequency of feedback loop with team

- Identify gaps and help build capabilities in junior team members

- Mentor other team members and partners on technical skills, best practices, problem solving approaches, and standard patterns used at - both formally in structured group settings and informally in one-on-one and small group sessions

- Continuously improve technical skills and expertise over tools-defining and enforcing standards when necessary to sustain the solutions' effectiveness and sustainable, and experimenting with and promoting adoption of new tools and approaches when appropriate

- Proactively generalize and share technical approaches and best practices among other developers, and simplify and communicate success stories to broader audiences across the company

- Develop and grow Retail & Media practice working with the leadership team in the UK and globally

Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role :

- 8+ years' experience, preferably in management consulting or Retail or Media industry in an analytical capacity

- Experience in analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets with data querying languages (e.g. SQL), BI Tools (MicroStrategy, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.), programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Scala, etc.), statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, Weka, SAS, Matlab)

- Experience with one or more web analytics platforms (ex: Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics etc)

- Has at least one or more of the following experiences:

- Experience implementing and/or working with clickstream web analytics tools such Adobe Analytics (Omniture SiteCatalyst), Google Analytics; or working knowledge of the field of web analytics

- Experience in the retail analytics within retailers and/or media companies like Tesco, Asos, Argos, Sainsbury, Ocado, BT, Sky, BBC etc. is preferred

- Experience in test & learn methodology and experimentation frameworks

- Experience of working in agile formats across multiple squads

- Experience in test & learn methodology and experimentation frameworks

- Experience with creating A/B, ABN, Multivariate tests in either of the testing platforms (Optimizely, Monetate, Google Optimize, Adobe Target)

- Building and presenting media mix, digital attribution, pricing and price elasticity models. Ability to grasp multifactorial test designs and analyze impact of such tests. Social media analytics using sentiment, geo-targeting, text mining etc.

- Experience in building/managing communications strategy and recommendation engines to arbitrate among competing communications to customers.

- Experience in omni-channel engagement, remarketing and customer segmentation

- Advanced Analytics and Data Modelling - Implementing machine learning techniques and advanced statistical modeling such as Nave Bayes, SVM, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting. Guiding junior members of the team in building ML solutions

Skills and Personal attributes we would like to have :

- Master's degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply

- Entrepreneurial and hands on approach to work

- Ability to provide insights to the client, guidance to the team and to manage end to end data and analytics engagements with a retail, media and digital focus

- Ability to structure analytical solution to address business objectives

- Bringing business acumen and appropriate hypotheses to solve business problems

- Be a people leader and a self starter

- Being very comfortable in liaison with, building relationships with the client and pushing back on clients as required
