Associate/Team Manager - Instrument Static Data Team - Banking Captive (7-14 yrs)

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Instrument Static Data team is to ensure accuracy and completeness of the data maintained within Instrument Reference Data team. The primary function of the role is to work within Reference Data Space which includes Reference/static data setup and maintenance, Data quality queries/ issues received from client, Exception management, Reconciliation of data between systems, monitoring the data quality report and to ensure accurate, timely and quality delivery of services provided within a risk free controlled environment, to ensure Bank's overall client satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day coordination to the department and its employees as well as act as an SME in Equities in order to establish optimal departmental services delivery within determined action plans and budget

- Monitor process service delivery and ensure accomplishment of targets in adherence to SLAs.

- Identify operational risks proactively and mitigate the same by implementing a strong control-oriented process.

- Develop and maintain a proactive relationship with clients - internal and external.

- Serve as internal/external escalation point of contact.

- Serve as an operational expert for queries from clients/team members etc.

- Work closely with other internal teams to ensure top of the line service to clients and ensure maximum execution/dispatch rates.

- Drive various projects within Reference data including regulatory projects such as MIFID II.

- Ensure effective delegation to direct reports.

- Ensuring that the process is running as per the DTP/KOP.

- Ensure appropriate check/controls are built within the team for effective processing.

- Ensure and manage structured upward & downward communication.

- Assist with recruitment and training process.

- Supervise and manage the development of team members.

- Work towards aligning self and team goals in line with Organizational goals.

- Conduct objective setting sessions, performance appraisals, provide feedback, & coaching for all team members, offer guidance for team level and individual level challenges.

- Ensure adequate back-ups created for all critical positions and assist other teams during contingencies (Staff shortage, high volumes etc).

- Support in preparing of MIS required for management decision making.

- Must be able to multi task effectively.

- Prioritize tasks and ensure adherence to timelines for completion of all activities.

- Should possess good Equities product and should be able to run complex SQL queries

- Should be able to work in flexible hours.

- Front-Office Traders.

- Back-Office teams.

- Systems based IT, teams.

- Onshore clients.

- BE, CTB & Other related internal teams.

Qualification & Experience required

Qualification

- Graduates with good academic records

Experience

- Overall 8+ years of banking operations experience (preferably 4 years in Investment Banking Operations). Experience in static data is desirable.

Essential Skills

- Excellent hands-on experience/knowledge on reference data (instrument, issuer, corporate action, rating)

- In-depth familiarity in using data vendor feeds like Bloomberg Back-office, Extended Back-office & Per Security, Reuters Data Scope, Telekurs VDF, ISIDPlus etc.

Equity

- Extensive product knowledge in the area of Equities Markets including a thorough understanding of cash equity, convertibles, ETF, Equity Basket/Indices, Warrants, Mutual Funds, preferred etc.

- Familiarity with equities product feeds from data vendors.

- Good understanding of listed equity derivative products.

- Strong SQL Skills

- Knowledge of Stock Markets / Trading Holidays.

- Strong interpersonal/good negotiations skills are required, leadership skills will be essential for this role. Follow through skills,

- Should possess good analytical skills. Should have adequate knowledge in handling office applications.
