The role is with one of the world's largest and globally renowned hedge fund client. The candidate would work in close proximity with leading PE analysts and supporting them in analysing potential investment opportunities in various sectors. Responsibilities and Performance Objectives : A sector agnostic role with a renowned global Hedge Fund client which will include: 1.) Building detailed financial models from scratch with appropriate revenue and cost drivers. 2.) Building high level and detailed LBO models and conducting valuation analysis including IRR, Relative valuation, DCF etc. 3.) Conducting financial analysis i.e. forecasting Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Income statement, Debt/ Financing schedule. 4.) Conducting primary &amp; secondary research with strong quantitative aptitude and ability to draw inferences from a set of numbers/financials. 5.) Interacting directly with the client and making presentations to internal/ external stakeholders. 6.) Play an - anchor- role for the client account and act as a lead analyst as the account team grows. Must have skills: 1.) The majority of the candidate's experience should be in investment research on publicly traded securities (Equities preferred but Credit will also be considered). 2.) Previous private equity, investment banking or consulting experience (Buy side/ Sell Side) is a must. 3.) Hands-on experience in writing investment notes (or sections thereof), financial modelling and valuation. 4.) Exposure to European / US markets is strongly preferred. Capabilities and Attributes: 1.) B. E/ B. Tech/ Commerce graduates with an MBA degree from leading B-Schools and a strong academic background 2.) Candidates with a CFA (US) degree would be preferred 3.) Strong understanding of financial statements and the ability to analyze financial performance by relating it to the business, industry and macroeconomic environment that the company operates in. 4.) Strong quantitative aptitude, with the ability to build financial forecasts. 5.) Knowledge of LBO models, Private equity funding, capital structure 6.) Knowledge of business growth strategy and the risk/return characteristics of private equity investment opportunities 7.) Strong hold on valuation (Relative Valuation, DCF, Sum-of-the-Parts etc.) 8.) High level of proficiency in MS-Office, especially MS-Excel. 9.) Highly motivated and strong work ethic, Proactive self-starter, problem-solving skills. 10.) Excellent data presentation and synthesis skills with attention to detail and the ability to quickly absorb and interpret large datasets. 11.) Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
