Associate/Senior Associate - Real Estate - Law Firm (4-5 yrs)

We are looking for Real Estate Associates for my client, a Tier 1 Full Service Law Firm.

The candidate must have 4-5 years- in real estate matters / transactions) preferably with a recognized mid-tier / top-tier law firm.

The candidate must have excellent drafting and communication skills.

The candidate must be fluent in Tamil & English (Read / Write / Speak).

The candidate must have excellent client and interpersonal relationship skills.

Role & Responsibilities :

- The candidate will constitute a key member of the Real Estate practice areas of the Chennai office and a part of the diligence teams for property / title due diligence reviews and the issuance of title reports / legal opinions on the basis of such diligence reviews.

- The candidate shall be responsible for the drafting of standard real-estate / property related documentation such as Sale Deeds, Powers of Attorney (General & Special), Joint Development Agreements / Construction Agreements, Commercial / Industrial Lease / License Deeds, Mortgage Deeds / Indentures of Mortgage, etc.

- The candidate shall be responsible for the preparation of legal opinions on a variety of regulatory / compliance based issues relating to Real Estate / Real Estate financing matters (for e.g., opinions on the implications of RERA 2016, SARFAESI Act, Urban Land Ceiling Act, etc. for the firm's clients), and carrying out the requisite case-law and general legal and business research.

- The candidate shall act as a key point-of-contact (POC) between clients and the authorities from local governmental and quasi-governmental entities (for e.g., Office of the Registrar / Sub-Registrar, Revenue Department, Labour Department, etc.), to ensure adherence with the relevant protocols under extant state law (TN) in order to expedite the closing / execution of transactions for clients.
