Associate Product Manager
Job Summary :
- Product at Sling includes the technology that enables our customers- viewing experience. As an Associate Product Manager for Sling TV, you will work primarily with engineers and the UX team to focus on features in a well-defined space and theme for the product. You will assist Product Managers with product initiatives, and work cross-functionally to help inform vision and strategy for your specific product domain. You will be part of forging the way millions of people watch TV.
Key Responsibilities :
- Work on a cross-functional team to deliver value to customers
- Assist with the product definition and ensure consistency of design and functionality
- Assist with developing strategies for the product that describe its ability to solve market problems
- Help define archetypical customers and help create a product vision with customer obsession at its core
- Engage daily with the team to prioritize work, identify impediments, and help achieve sprint objectives - Discover problems by assisting product managers with interviewing customers and prospects through primary and secondary customer research
- Obsession with and validation of customer problems
- Actively manage the product backlog
- Measure the effectiveness of product releases post-launch and iterate on product outcomes
- Assist with using a prioritization framework for prioritizing discovery, backlog features and stories, using Kanban and Scrum tools including Jira and Rally
- Attend daily stand-ups and Scrum ceremonies
- Help build alignment to the product team vision throughout the organization using presentations and roadmaps, and assist the product managers with aligning the roadmap to strategic initiatives and metrics in collaboration with internal business partners
- Continuously evangelize their product domain throughout the organization

- A successful Associate Product Manager is smart, creative, persistent, high-energy, strategic, customer-focused, and a detail-oriented individual
- Strong interest in Product Management, interest in Design Thinking and Agile Framework methodologies
- Displays strong initiative for anticipating and meeting customer and business demands, an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and uncertain environment, a high level of intellectual curiosity, and a focus on taking ownership and initiative
- Move between the strategic 30,000 ft-view and tactical activity levels on a daily basis, focusing on the high level and product details simultaneously
- Focuses on customer needs, market trends, technical concepts, and evaluate new ideas
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, product management skills, along with great communication and collaboration skills
Education / Experience :
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university OR relevant work experience OR combination of education and relevant work experience
- No prior product management experience necessary; this is an entry level position
