Associate Partner/Partner - Litigation - Law Firm - LLB/LLM (10-25 yrs)

Job Responsibilities :

Lead the Debt Recovery Practice :

a) Develop and execute strategies for debt recovery, ensuring effective and efficient representation of clients.

b) Manage a team of lawyers and support staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and training as required.

c) Oversee the day-to-day operations of the debt recovery practice, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

Handle Litigation Matters :

a) Represent clients in complex litigation cases related to debt recovery, DRT, and NCLT.

b) Prepare legal documents, including petitions, affidavits, pleadings, and appeals.

c) Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.

d) Present arguments and negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.

Client Relationship Management :

a) Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional service.

b) Act as a trusted advisor, providing legal counsel and guidance on debt recovery matters.

c) Collaborate with clients to develop effective strategies for debt resolution and recovery.

Stay Updated on Legal Developments :

a) Keep abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents related to debt recovery, DRT, and NCLT.

b) Monitor changes in the legal landscape and advise clients on potential implications.

c) Provide thought leadership within the firm and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Business Development :

a) Identify and pursue new business opportunities, fostering relationships with potential clients.

b) Participate in networking events, conferences, and industry associations to enhance the firm's visibility.

c) Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm to leverage cross-selling opportunities.

Job Requirements :

Education and Experience :

a) Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB). A master's degree would be an added advantage

b) Minimum 10 years of experience in litigation, with a specific focus on debt recovery, DRT, and NCLT.

c) Proven track record of successfully handling debt recovery cases and representing clients before DRT and NCLT.

Technical Skills :

a) In-depth knowledge of debt recovery laws, regulations, and procedures.

b) Strong understanding of the DRT and NCLT processes, including filing procedures, timelines, and documentation requirements.

c) Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Leadership and Management Skills :

a) Demonstrated leadership ability in managing a team of lawyers and support staff.

b) Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

c) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Business Development and Client Management :

a) Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

b) Strong business acumen and the ability to identify new business opportunities.

c) Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills.
