Associate Partner - Indirect Tax - CA/LLB/LLM - Law Firm (9-12 yrs)
The incumbent will handle engagements related to Indirect Tax Laws: including Tax Restructuring, Tax Advisory and consulting, appeals pertaining to Service Tax, VAT, Excise, Foreign Trade Policy, Octroi (State specific) laws and GST implementation.
In addition, there may be assignments relating to Income tax laws
Assignments will also include litigation related services: drafting replies, appeals, briefing counsels and senior counsels. Rendering strategic advice to the client
Advanced in-depth understanding of multiple aspects related to the legal practice of work and practical knowledge required to provide the solutions. Ability to acquire knowledge on current market trends and understand its future implication and impact on client
Supervises resource planning for joint mandates across multiple practice areas, team deliverables, fee distribution etc
Manage all commercial aspects of client deliverables - beneficial and accurate fee commercials, monitoring deliverables efficiency, billing, recovery etc
Manage financial budgets for the practice area - revenue and profitability
Grow the practice and evaluate new opportunities and cross-sells across practice areas
Team management and team building. Appraisals and review, training and development, etc.
Desired Candidate profile
Qualified CA/LLB/LLM with 9-12 years of work experience. Minimum 10 of years of consulting and Indirect Tax experience.
Experienced candidates with prior experience in Big 4 firms /reputed law firms or CA firms are preferred.

Translates high level strategic decisions into clear and achievable goals and targets for teams
Supervise transactions/ mandates and generate more business for the Practice by providing solutions that are legally and commercially viable
Demonstrates an in depth understanding of the client's business, industry dynamics etc.
Invests time in regular client interactions to solicit feedback and takes action to develop long term client relationships
Leverages synergies within the Practices to drive overall Firm objectives and to deliver common goals
Coaches & mentors employees within own Practice Area and creates opportunities for team to learn and grow
Prioritizes effectively and allocates resources in an optimal way, to enable successful completion of the projects.
