Global Risk - Operational Risk - Associate

Divisional Overview:

- The Risk Management Division encompasses the firm's comprehensive risk framework responsible for determining and managing the overall risk appetite for the firm. The division is responsible for effectively managing the firm's risk-return profile which ensures the efficient deployment of the firm's capital. It is one of the firm's core competencies and is independent of the trading areas and operational areas. The Risk Management Division in India comprises: of below key divisions -

- Market Risk Management

- Credit Risk Management

- Risk Methodology Operational Risk Management

- Risk Data Management and Control

- Model validation

Business Unit Overview:

Global Operational Risk Management comprises 5 Regional teams, giving coverage of company's key locations and businesses, and Central ORM comprising the Global Head of ORM and the Head of Central ORM and their team Daily Stakeholder queries

Qualification- Any Graduate/Post graduate

Role & Responsibilities:

- Supporting Central ORM and Head of Framework in the development, deployment and operation of the ORM Policy and Procedures and assuring Central ORM's role in the ORM framework is executed as per Policy and Procedures.

- Operational risk reporting and analysis, with a focus on streamlining and automating deliverables, including full adoption of Business Objects and data mining and analysis. Assure compliance to Risk Reporting Procedure.

- Managing senior management reporting (including board and global committees). This includes weekly and monthly reporting and analytical reports during quarter and year end.

- Managing regulatory requests, e.g. for Japan FSA or UK PRA, including regulatory submissions.

- Assessing compliance of Regional ORM teams to policy and procedures, including oversight of Monthly Status Report of global progress of ORM Framework processes (RCSAs, Events, KRIs, Scenarios etc).

- Understand Operational risk system functionality and suggest improvements (both Small Enhancements and buildout projects).

- Exceptions management for ORM Policy and Procedures.

- Manage other adhoc tasks like Global Operational Risk Hierarchy maintenance, EUC inventory management etc. which will be essential for smooth functioning of Central ORM function.

- Assist in the creation of training content on ORM framework components. Rollout of ORM online training globally, including vendor management and training module development.

- Assist in liaising with Global Head of ORM on reporting and tracking of framework embeddedness.

- Assist in liaising with Global ORM leads for ensuring global consistency in Operational Risk coverage and framework rollout.

- Assist in ensuring data management and business continuity requirements for ORM are met.

- Managing and building relationship with ORM vendors.

- Undertaking ad hoc projects / tasks being a part of Global Work streams

MIND SET:

Domain:

- Have 3 to 5 years experience in operational risk or equivalent control function, ideally including reporting, framework development / implementation,

- Possess excellent communication and organisation skills and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, where necessary to short deadlines

- Possess reporting and analysis skills and have deep understanding of Excel (knowledge of Business Objects reporting tool will be a plus)

- Possess financial services knowledge and experience, ideally in capital markets / investment banking context

- Be a self-starter and display a proactive approach

- Ideally, have some knowledge of ORM regulatory requirements and industry standards

- Relevant operational risk professional qualifications are an advantage but not essential
