Associate Manager - Research - Life Science (8-12 yrs)

Location: Bengaluru (preferably) OR Gurugram, India

ROLE : Life Sciences Research Associate Manager

INNOVATION:

- Develops thought provoking insights through market analysis and in-depth review of trends

- Works directly with senior LS leaders on affecting the overall business strategy and market positioning

- Initiates highly differentiated market messages through thought leadership and innovative thinking

- Develops innovative research

- Designs and manages research to define and re-shape thinking on major LS industry/business/technology issues

REPUTATION:

- Recognized as an industry expert by the LS leadership team

- Expertise sought after by senior leadership within the LS practice

- Publishes regularly through the publication channels and other channels such as business reviews

- Has a strong internal and growing external network and social media presence

BUSINESS IMPACT:

- Research focused on Business (- so what?- ) with major and long lasting impact

- Credible in presenting work and discussing issues with clients

- Credible in presenting work externally

COMPLEXITY:

- Supports shaping of and executes complex research programs of work with global scope

- Partners with leadership-level stakeholders in business (MDs, PDs, SMs etc.). Understands their strategic goals as it relates to the research project goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for someone who has a comprehensive skill set:

 Hard- skills:

- Track record in research with broad experience in applying the main research techniques, including: familiarity with key LS-relevant data sources, financial analysis, strategic frameworks and survey research. Experience in economic modeling would be an advantage (but not a requirement)

- Subject matter expertise across the LS sector with a focus on the major pharmaceutical companies and the growing biotech/medtech sectors

- An understanding of the role of data, digital and technology in disrupting the LS sector

- Strong analytical skills and a proven understanding of how we creatively use data to drive business outcomes

- Experience in the presentation of research deliverables to high level executives

 Soft-skills:

- Intellectual curiosity

- Proven ability to manage research projects

- Entrepreneurial attitude

- Strong communications skills (focus on actionable intelligence) and good interpersonal skills in one-to-one and team settings

Industry Skills:

- A passion for and expertise in the Life Science industry: A thorough understanding of the Life Science industry is a prerequisite, including particular knowledge of: pharmaceutical value chain, market dynamics, healthcare ecosystem and players, with emphasis on global major and emerging markets; key patient/consumer journey, trends and drivers; major industry players, scope of business and recent activities; product and go to market processes; structure of companies operations; and company financial drivers and critical metrics for evaluating performance are all necessary. In today's environment, it is also critical that the individual understand how digital technology is transforming the industry and changing how patients and healthcare entities behave.
