Associate - Knowledge Management (KM)

Must be an Law Graduate

The candidate should be a law graduate having experience of at least 4 - 5 years in M&A, Private Equity, securities law or working knowledge of general corporate law issues or in corporate litigation, to enable him/her to fulfill the following role:

The role holder is overall responsible for :

1. Supporting the Head of KM in the day to day functions of the KM team and in implementation of the Firm's KM Policy.

2. Proactively identifying developments in the legal field in India and abroad that are relevant to the Firm's practice areas

3. Preparing high quality updates/newsletters for the firm's lawyers and for clients

4. Managing the knowhow database, keeping it dynamic, updated, current and user friendly

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Identifying legal, regulatory and legislative developments in India and abroad that are relevant to the Firm and its lawyers.

2. Preparing top quality regulatory updates and notes in consultation with Head of KM and keeping track of history of the regulation and legislation.

3. Preparing top quality legislative updates and notes on new Bills, amendments to current laws introduced or to be introduced in parliament and maintain a legislative tracker

4. Saving/Tagging of KM documents on the KM database, identifying dated documents, updating content for change in law, in consultation with senior lawyers in the firm.

5. Preparing monthly, quarterly KM contribution lists and mid-year and annual KM reports for Mumbai Region lawyers.

6. Identifying knowhow requirements of lawyers and knowledge gaps, interacting and obtaining feedback from lawyers and providing solutions to fill the gaps/expectations

7. Conduct training sessions for Mumbai Region lawyers on use of the Knowhow Database, KM Best Practices, KM Policy, Form & Style Guide, File Naming Protocols etc. from time to time for new joinees and conduct refresher trainings on an ongoing basis.

Skills required

1. Transactional experience in corporate law (M&A, private equity, securities law) or working knowledge of corporate and commercial law or experience in corporate litigation and arbitration.

2. Excellent Research skills

3. Excellent Presentation skills

4. Excellent writing and communication skills - Ability to express, write and talk in simple, clear English

5. Technical skills - working knowledge of a document management system, intranet, knowledge portal (preferable)

6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
