RESPONSIBILITIES :

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities :

- This role involves use of experience and knowledge to evaluate the impact from risk perspective on the firm, involves decision making with respect to specific regulatory compliances. Challenge in this role is generally a need to communicate the decisions to business groups for issues that could be quite complex especially due to regulatory / compliance implications, but the role need to ensure supporting business need with no risk to the firm

- This role involves areas connected with: ERM (~20%), India regulatory related areas (~5%), FIRM specific compliance program management such as Independence, Code of conduct, etc. (~40%), Monitoring and supervising compliance mandates including reporting (~10%), Support on UK specific select regulatory compliances and responsible for periodical update on process set up (~5%), Program management for non India operations after experience of 2 quarters (~20%)

Skills and attributes for success :

- Preference - Experience of having worked as part of Risk management team in Big4 firms or in any FIRM office at least at 'Senior Manager' level

- Experience in areas associated with any regulatory compliance or Risk management and skills associated with the tasks around these areas; Compliance bent of mind is very important and ability to quickly understand the risk implications

- Knowledge pre-requisite, need not be work experience of having worked in various areas connected with firm's Q&RM processes - Independence, corporate law, data privacy, client acceptance procedures, regulatory compliances

- Skills necessary to quickly learn new areas in Risk management; eg. Regulations relevant to India and executing processes that help managing India operations

- Not just execution capability, but experience of leading any of the multiple areas of Risk management, stakeholder management, reporting or presentation to the management or stakeholders on the risk management related issues, achievements, demonstrating ability to support the business, etc.

- Experience in legal matters helps to meet the knowledge and skills requirements, but this role does not have any participation in typical legal areas such as contract review, litigation, people / employee issues, legal counsel, etc.

- Law graduate, or Graduate in any areas connected with Corporate laws / Regulatory laws including Company Secretary

- 10 years experience at minimum manager and thereafter senior manager rank in the compliance areas

- In case of non FIRM profile, experience of having worked in corporate legal / compliance team with in-depth understanding and handling Indian law compliances. Minimum 6-8 years of experience in a corporate legal team

This is a corporate function for inhouse operations, hence any experience in supporting clients as part of the service by an offshore location is not considered
