Associate Director, Risk Management, is a leadership role at Our Company is responsible for designing risk policy framework, SoPs for merchant sourcing/onboarding/activation from a risk perspective, audit and quality control for ensuring achievement of desirable risk metrics, and other key aspects of Risk management for the Payments and Neo Banking businesses of the organization. The incumbent is expected to align internal stakeholders on the policy aspects of Risk Management as well as mid to long-term roadmap to open up future opportunities. In addition, the incumbent will play a key role in managing external stakeholders including regulators, law enforcement, networks, and bank partners. In sum, the role requires setting up and ensuring adherence to policies, systems &amp; processes that would preempt or mitigate all aspects of business risks for Our Company's Payments and Neo Banking businesses while enabling fast growth for these businesses. Key responsibilities - Develop, communicate and implement risk management policy to support the organization's strategy and vision in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations - Stay updated on new fraud trends in payments acquiring and neo banking and mitigations thereof; socialize the same with internal stakeholders - Use data analytics as a powerful tool to get early warning signals - Set up the right governance of systems and processes to ensure execution of the Risk Policy in letter and spirit through QC, audits and reviews - Eliminate adverse risk events that slow down or interfere with business growth; form a rapid response approach, should such events happen, including response to law enforcement agencies for cases of misconduct by merchants - Represent the organization and act as a liaison with all external stakeholders, including government and regulatory authorities, networks, partner banks and industry bodies - Work closely with Product, Customer Success, Finance, Banking and other teams to help create an optimal risk management framework and culture in the organization Desired Profile - Minimum 10 years of relevant experience working on various aspects of Risk Management in banks/payment aggregators/acquirers/networks/risk solutions companies, of which minimum 2 years should have been spent managing merchant risk - Working knowledge of merchant risk management and related activities - onboarding, business model check, KYC verification, transaction monitoring, merchant monitoring, risk scoring, chargebacks, disputes management, fraud alert, and others - is a must - Good industry connections and a sound understanding of how various agencies &amp; key incumbents engage and work with each other - Comfort with fintech technology solutions and working knowledge of leading risk management tools is a plus - Bias for action and ease with the fast pace of a technology-enabled, technology-first environment is a must - The candidate should demonstrate high standards of confidentiality - given the nature of the role - and yet exercise strong discretion - given the fundamentally transparent and empowering culture of Our Company - The role reports to Vice President, Risk management, of Our Company
