Client Details: A high-frequency proprietary trading firm.
Description:
- Overseeing India accounting function for various operating and trading entities, including:
- Directly supervising the India based Accounting Team,
- Preparing month-end closings, including the calculation of NAV and trader bonuses,
- Liaising with internal infrastructure teams on PnL and fee reconciliation processes,
- Global coordination of Tower Group audit
- Local statutory financial reporting
- Tax compliance reporting
- Preparing annual financial statements and ensuring the integrity of Tower's internal financial reporting, accounting systems, and capital allocations while working directly with external auditors to test internal financial controls
- Ensuring financial policies and procedures are consistent company-wide and forecasting future controls in accordance with regulatory requirements; reviewing and approving regulatory filings as needed
- Partnering directly with the respective global leaders to oversee tax compliance and strategy, and ensuring controls are in compliance with state, and local regulatory laws
- Collaborating with middle office and post-trade functions to define strategic business workflows and improve accounting efficiencies by enhancing processes/automation, people skills, and technology
- Building and maintaining strong business partnerships for cross-functional projects and decision support
Profile:
- A bachelor's/PG degree with at least 12+ years of experience working in the financial services and Big 4 industry which include, broker-dealers, exchanges, hedge funds, quant trading firms, and/or asset management firms (public and private companies - buy side and sell side)
- At least 8 years of management experience including people management.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is a mandatory requirement.
- The ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and implement process improvement/change; excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience in leading a team with exceptional management skills and expertise in identifying solutions to design automated solutions to improve financial efficiencies
- Experience in Finance Transformation efforts including offshoring and outsourcing
- Experience in managing ERP systems (e.g. Finance, HR, and other back office systems), cost allocation and billing systems, and data governance
- Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud, Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, Tableau, Word, and Google Suite
