Associate Director Distribution and Logistics


Key Responsibilities :


- Leading the Distribution Team

- Governance and process ownership over the Distribution process

1. From warehouse inbound reception to customer order fulfillment and delivery

2. Returns and Recalls

3. Customer Service

4. Order-to-Cash

- Ownership of the relationship Logistics Service Providers

- Ensure that all requirements of the company on its distribution function is always met

Tasks:

Logistics Service Providers relationship:

- Communicates with Logistics Service Providers on a regular basis

- Bi-weekly operational meeting (direct participation in case of escalation, otherwise local representation

- Quarterly business review with all Logistics Service Providers

- Visit the Logistics Service Providers on an agreed timetable to fully review the ongoing operational business, performance, improvement plans and future initiatives

- Coordinates with Logistics Service Providers on needs and handle front side of the business

- Acts as a point of contact for all Logistics Service Providers throughout Europe

- Implementing change management structures and processes

Process:

- Ensures that the distribution process is always optimally supported by systems and tools

- Manage technical requirements from suppliers, or clients (e.g. EDI connection, einvoicing)

- Works on continuous improvement of the distribution process (internal and external)

Governance:

- Leads distribution network transformation

- Drive operational excellence and best practices across the network whilst reducing cost.

- The point of escalation for any operational, commercial, or contractual issue with the LSP; to agree a resolution plan for each issue and to ensure that this plan is carried out

- Ensures a proper documentation of all Logistics Service Providers deliverables on time and accurate

- Ensures that the Logistics Service Providers meet all regulatory and compliance measures within global, regional and local guidelines

- Working closely with the internal departments and local sales teams throughout the region, strengthening the physical supply chain in terms of processes, compliance and security.

- Ensures governance (objectives, roles & responsibilities, performance monitoring, procedures and rules, contracts) of warehouse and distribution management within Europe

- Monitor, Measure and Evaluate the performance of the LSP while using appropriate KPIs

Knowledge and experience :

- University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or related field

- Knowledge of current best practices in warehousing and transport for pharmaceutical distribution in Europe and worldwide

- In depth knowledge of the supply market for Logistics Services Provision in Europe

- Ability to work in an independent and individual role

- Ability to quickly establish credibility or European Distribution function across the organization, making the function the recognized source of expertise on warehousing and distribution in the countries

- Solid business acumen accompanied by interpersonal savvy

- Have a bias for action and fast decision making.

- Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships internally & externally

- Superior influencing, communication, negotiation, presentation, and analytical skills

- Willingness to travel internationally (especially within Europe)

- Demonstrated ability of managing distribution from multiple sources to multiple destinations

- Experience in creating/upgrading the distribution function in an organization of similar size and scope.

- Ability to transform current business model to a cohesive, transparent and cost-effective distribution network

- Demonstrated ability of managing cost performance

- Solid track record for effectively managing projects - planning, assessing and implementing change

- Experience in supply chain technology/ processes such as SAP

- Experience with sub-contracting logistics service, vendor performance management, etc.

- Experience in Procurement: Requests for Information/Proposal (RFI/RFP), Evaluation, Selection, etc.
