Associate Director/Director - Engineering (15-22 yrs)

Bangalore Job Code: 1109945

We are looking to hire a Director of Engineering who will lead multiple teams of developers and QA engineers. You will manage a team of a few Engineering Managers each of whom will manage a team of about 10-20 engineers. You will have responsibility and accountability for the development and delivery of multiple client projects and products. You will work with global stakeholders and clients, but also have autonomy on how to manage the people and execute the work of your teams.

This position will report to the VP of Engineering

Here's what we're looking for in a Director of Engineering:

You should be.

- A hands-on, hard-core technologist

- You are an expert in various web and mobile technologies. You will not only bring technical expertise, but also have a strong conviction about engineering excellence, best practices, and how best to achieve something technically.

A Leader

Planning and theories only get us so far. We need someone that will get s#!% done, inspire others to take initiative, and lead the team to build great software. Building great software is only half of it. A good leader spends even more effort coaching and mentoring people.

An Innovator

You are not afraid to look at things differently and implement better ways to do them. You have an innate desire to move the needle when it comes to the performance of your team and the products we build.

A Communicator

You have professional interactions with fellow team members and clients. You are an influencer and motivator, able to inspire others and defuse a tense situation. You explain the problems we are solving and why they are important. Good communication is what makes that possible.

A Collaborator

You will be working with smart people. There will be back and forth sharing of ideas and constant feedback. You need to be comfortable defending your ideas, but also be willing to move on if a different direction is required. As Jeff Bezos says, "disagree and commit."
