Business Unit Overview :

Global Markets Powai team is an extension of regional Global Markets (Front Office) teams supporting Equities, Securitized Products, Rates, FX, and Credit. The division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy. Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of global business

- The Functional Support team in Powai is a key Business Unit within the GM division. It houses a number of extended teams for various regional functions acting as enablers for the FO team such as AEJ, EMEA & US GM Business Management, Client Account Management and Strategy (CAMS), Front Office Supervision (FOS) and Senior Relationship Management (SRM).

- This particular role is within the Business Management team. The Business Managers (or CAOs) play a strategic role in delivering the Global Markets business agenda. They work closely with the Business Heads to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor. They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policies.

Qualification - MBA (Finance) or CA preferred.

Role :

- We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the GM Business Management team, based in Powai, partnering with the AEJ (Asia ex-Japan) GM Business Management team.

- The individual will be joining an existing team of Business Managers and will assume day-to-day responsibilities which will contribute towards business management, performance monitoring, managing infrastructure/processes which support AEJ GM as well as managing key projects that are critical for the growth and day to day operation of the franchise.

- Work closely and in partnership with AEJ GM Business Management team covering sales, trading, research and structuring

Responsibilities:

- Owning and Driving business initiatives to achieve GM business objectives; both regional and global in nature

- Strategic Business Analysis, Management Presentations :

- Help quantify new business opportunities in partnership with business managers / Front Office as well as corporate functions

- Create presentations to analyze and summarize revenue, expenses, resource consumption, client interactions and other management reporting metrics.

- Monitor preparation / Prepare weekly business summaries which include financial metrics and business commentary for Senior Management.

- Partnering with Technology, Operations, Finance and other Corporate functions,

- To own day to day issues pertaining to corporate function and ensure closure.

- Drive the process for new products from the front office in co-ordination with the front office/ new products team and corporate functions

- Control and Conduct

- Ensuring adherence to business policies.

- Owning Audit points and driving closure

- Expense approval, tracking and expense management.

Key Skills:

Mandatory -

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and regional counterparts at senior levels

- Strong Analytical and Situational

- Problem solving skills.

- Good Knowledge of Capital Market products and asset classes (Fixed Income, Equities, Forex, Derivatives)

- Good understanding of the Trade Lifecycle and various corporate functions along the Trade Life cycle

- Good project management skills - planning, coordination/ execution, senior management reporting, situational

- Prior experience of driving initiatives in the Global Markets space.

- Is entrepreneurial and independent; a self-starter, takes ownership, exhibits integrity, initiative, strong motivation and attention to detail

- Ability to prioritize high volumes of deliverables across multiple disciplines working under pressure

- Good MS Power-point, Excel and Word skills

Desired :

- Ambition and enthusiasm to succeed in this challenging role

- Prior experience in strategy roles would be an added advantage
