Assistant Vice President/Vice President - Underwriting - Health Insurance (10-15 yrs)

Position Title : Assistant Vice President - Health Underwriting

Reports to : Chief Medical Officer & Head - Health Underwriting

Purpose of the Role: To lead health product team

Main Responsibility:

- Conduct market research/ market requirement study for products available in market in India and abroad

- Conduct detail comparisons on benefits, premium, terms and conditions of products available in market in India and abroad

- Coordination with Legal/ Compliance team for arranging the PMC meeting for product filing

Conducting PMC at beginning of financial year

a) Finalizing the annual product plan

b) Review of Health UW policy

- Drafting the F&U or UnF documents for the products

- Coordinating with Actuaries team for Technical Note and F&U or UnF updating and reviewing the same

- Coordinating with legal/ compliance team, UW team for signatures of CEO, AA and CCO on filing documents

- Sending the hard copies and soft copies of filing documents to IRDAI

- Sending the replies to IRDAI on the Queries raised post discussion with UW team, Claims team, Actuaries team, etc

- Coordination with Actuaries team for any Actuarial query raised by IRDAI

- Updating the documents as per Health Insurance Regulations, Protection of Policy Holder's Interest guidelines

- Sales team - Coordination with sales team for initial product ideas and go ahead on Product construct

- Corp-comm team - Coordination with Corp comm team for finalization of marketing materials/ collaterals

- Actuaries team - Coordination with Actuarial team for finalization of pricing

- Underwriting team - Coordination with Underwriting team for finalization of Underwriting Guidelines, Terms and Conditions

- Claims team - Coordination with Claims team for finalization of Claims procedure

- Legal/ Compliance team - Coordination with Legal/ Compliance team for vetting of documents

- E-comm team - Coordinating with E comm team for preparation of website contents of the product and uploading the documents on the company's website

- IT team - Preparation of BRD and coordination with IT team for system feasibility

- Product Innovation team - For Value added services/ features in the products

- Updating the ISO numbers on product collaterals

- Vetting of final product collaterals

- Sending the mail to IRDAI with final Policy Wordings and Prospectus with UIN, ISO No., product name and document name mentioned on each page

- Preparation of raters of the products

- Preparation of Product Presentation, Write ups

- Giving training to the team members and resolving queries about product specs

- Sending the launch mail to All FG/ specific team

- Sending the launch mail to IRDAI

- Conducting system UAT related to product features

- Checking and responding to mails on circulars/ guidelines received from IRDAI/ GIC

- Collecting and updating the details related to Audit (internal and external)

- Checking of RI draft slip as per terms and conditions of the product

- Creating Processes (SOP) in coordination with other teams

- Updating the product trackers

- Doing UAT of website content and documents uploading

- Coordinating with RI team (SCOR, Hannover Re etc) for final RI slip

- Providing data as required by IRDAI time to time (e.g. Updating list of all the new products introduced during the quarter, Product performance)

- Providing data as required by Compliance team time to time (e.g. Updating Public Disclosures of annual accounts on Website of the Company)

- Providing data as required by Generali time to time (e.g. Updating Health product library, GARO)

- Providing data on Products as required for Board Meeting/ Chairman's presentation

- Updating the Product Calendar on regular basis

- Uploading of UINs in BAP portal

- Coordinating with vendors for wellness

- Preparation of product related online quiz modules

Qualification and Experience Requirement:

Education:

Post Graduates in any stream or Medical graduates(BHMS,BAMS,BMS etc.)

Experience :

- 06 to 10 years experience in Health product development or health Underwriting.

- Earlier experience in filing of products with IRDA/ IRDA data maintenance etc.
