Assistant Vice President - Software Engineering - Consumer Products Team - IT

Looking out for a Technology leader of Software Product Engineering, with a Technical Experience of about 10+ years, and hands-on experience in Software Product Development and ownership.

Role :

You will be heading our Consumer Products team which is working on customer-facing Web-based products and phone apps. This includes our loan application software as well as Connect app (which is a directory for small businesses). The team consists of back-end, front-end and full-stack engineers of varying levels of experience.

The role will demand the following while heading a team :

1. Ensuring timely and quality delivery of software

2. Interfacing with all stakeholders - product managers, technical leads/managers, engineers to understand requirements and communicate the same to the project team for implementation

3. Aid the engineering team with architecture and all manner of technical decisions

4. Ensure standards are followed and appropriate engineering processes applied

5. Mitigate project risk

6. Build a culture of engineering excellence in the team through smart hiring and mentoring

Requirements :

The ideal candidate should have the following :

1. 10 years min. Experience in core software development

2. Hands-on experience building consumer Web/mobile apps at scale

3. Strong exposure to open-source technology - Python, Linux, SQL and NoSQL databases, Web development frameworks

4. Strong architecture skills

5. Ability to provide leadership to team and project with maturity

6. Ability to interact with people effectively across functional areas

7. Preferably a strong full-stack engineer or at least strong backend skills with some front-end skill
