Assistant Vice President - Risk - BFSI (6-15 yrs)
- Ensure continuous improvement of risk management and internal control processes in order to reduce the operational risk faced by the Bank.
- Ensure consistency in the implementation of processes, increase risk awareness of the staff members, monitoring of issues that may affect the bank business, and identification of early warning signals.
- Responsible to identify and evaluate operational risks arising from new processes, regulatory and thematic risks, and assisting in the implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate these risks in the Bank.
- Responsible for identifying knowledge gaps, and assisting in the development of training on Operational Risk
- Participate in periodic peer reviews to ensure consistency of risk management approach and support the Operations in embedding best practices
- Responsible for escalation of issues, blockages, challenges, and trends to the business heads and Risk Owners when required
- Responsible for ensuring the quality of information recorded in the risk tracking system, as well as ensuring accuracy, completeness of data, driving the timely resolution of outstanding actions
- Responsible for supporting Operations in minimizing operational risks and losses, and ensuring material operational losses are investigated to prevent a recurrence
- Identify non-standard processes and recommend appropriate control mechanisms.
- Responsible for ensuring Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is completed by process owners for key risk events.
- Review audit findings and key themes to achieve resolution in line with operational risk appetite.
- Responsible to visit 2 to 3 branches / Vendor locations for Risk Assessment every month.
- Provide guidance on any operational risk remediation with support from OR Head and respective risk owners
