Designation : Assistant Vice President - Cash Settlements

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Global Cash Products (GCP) business, Settlement is a critical function. It consists of products such as OTC, Foreign Exchange, and Money Market. A typical day for the role holder would be to start the day with handling resource allocation in line with volumes, conduct huddles, and through the day monitor strict currency deadlines to ensure seamless settlement and manage authorization, continuously conduct supervisory controls and spot checks to ensure there are no SLA misses. The role holder will need to be cognizant of intra-day cut offs and develop team delivery. The individual is required to be an SME, and should be capable to multi task, handle conflicting priorities and swift decision-making. The role holder will also be responsible to handle first level escalation/ partner engagement / drive project calls etc. The day will end with conducting close of day supervisory checks and sign offs

This role is an AVP position in Pune (India) within GCP (Global Cash Products) Settlement Team. The desired candidate should be comfortable working in an APAC shift. They should have robust experience and knowledge in Investment Banking Operations. The candidate should have a very strong control and risk.

Primary Responsibilities for the role would include but are not limited to the below:

- Understand the Product Knowledge, including front-to-back process workflow (e.g. Pre-matching, Fails, Confirmation, Settlements, Break Resolution etc.) and the impact of the function's activities on the downstream process

- Active participation in firm-wide strategic-initiatives including but not limited to, identify operational improvements and efficiency opportunities in the daily workflow

- Build and maintain a robust team of by setting yearly objectives in line with departmental goals, provide appropriate feedback to staff, and hold staff accountable for their output

- Monitor and evaluate workload to guarantee the daily process / performance also during high volume seasons.

- Take proactive measures on tactical projects identifying root cause and encourage solutions to improve controls, efficiency and further value add activities.

- Ensure team adherence to timely settlement confirmation, escalation and remediation of key risk items; along with effective regulatory and firm policy compliance

- Responsible for handling issues by coordinating with the internal & external business partners

- Incident management - Clarity on control/process failures. Suggest and implement strong remediation action

- Manage Run the Bank/Change the Bank Change initiatives.

- Review/Approve appropriate funds transfer requests.

- Conduct KRI reviews as necessary to ensure clarity in team productivity and intensifying as required to reduce risk to the firm

- Provide exceptional client service that maintains and continually enhances relationships to improve the overall client experience

Skill sets Required:

- 9+ years of Investment Banking experience Investment Banking experience in either products such as OTC, FX and Money Market

- Outstanding attention to detail, presentation skills, pro-activeness, risk/control-focused approach, and positive attitude.

- Ability to lead and motivate the team. Handle performance and meet process SLA- s

- Ability to forge strong working relationships across departments in a global organization and experienced in dealing cross culturally

- Ability to innovate, deliver and inspire change

- Proficient in process review and analysis abilities

- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work under-pressure

- Outstanding analytical skills with a control approach and a high degree of accuracy is required
