Assistant Vice President - Marketing - Publishing House (8-15 yrs)

This is a very interesting role for a Marketing Lead role for their PAN India marketing division. The client is a leading global publishing house based in Delhi NCR.

This role will encompass overseeing all the divisions within the marketing department including Design, Web solutions, PR & Author Management, Event Management, and Collateral Development. This role will involve team management as well as vendor management. You will be responsible for all Digital and Print Marketing and therefore people with strong digital marketing experience is needed.

This role will oversee the marketing department ensuring that business decisions are made on sound commercial basis and that regime of control and effective management of the company's objectives.

He / She will work directly with the Vice President (Marketing) in forming strategic plans to achieve the company's revenue, branding and outreach goals. The role requires someone who can be a key business partner to the VP Marketing and the organization.

Job Description :

- Will be involved in making strategy in terms of achieving company's revenue, branding and outreach goals.

- Will be responsible for overall smooth functioning of the marketing divisions and providing clarity on the functioning of each division.

- Will lead the creation of detail plans for each vertical within marketing.

- Will be a key player in establishing a strong dynamic team where individuals take responsibility for their areas of work. He /she will attribute to be able to represent the company within the larger group across the globe.

- Will be responsible for managing vendors for timely, efficient, quality and cost-effective production of collateral and publicity materials.

- Define and document/revise Service Level Agreements with customers (both internal and external) and measure performance based on predetermined metrics and ensure targets are met to achieve business objectives and customer SLAs.

- Managing the annual budgeting and expenses for all the divisions within marketing department in close coordination with finance. Providing thought leadership to the department, its functions and its deliverables.

- Will be responsible for leading the marketing team across all geographical locations and segments and help develop, approve marketing plans and expectations management of people in the department.

- Will be responsible for ensuring adequate planning and execution to meet organizational objectives related to conferences, book fairs, events, etc.

Must have skills:

- Preferably an MBA or Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from an institution of repute.

- 8 to 15 years of work experience, of which at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Should have handled PR, Communication, Design and Web Promotions as well.

- Effective people management and team handling skills. Experience of managing multi disciplinary teams.

- Should have fair idea of digital media marketing applications and should be comfortable deploying them.

- Prior experience in event management will be an added advantage.

Please note this role requires someone with excellent written and spoken communication skills and a keen eye for detail. Someone with strong analytical and mathematical skills who can think and drive strategy and implementation.
