Assistant Vice President/ Manager - Business Development

You will be responsible for developing business across sectors and geographic locations. This role will suit a proactive and ambitious sales professional with a proven track record of getting projects from various sectors (including public sector).

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Explore the opportunity on PAN India basis by appropriate research on prospective business within corporate, government and public sector. Segregate the prospective business into segment wise and business module wise.

- Identify the business sustainability and viability in geographical terms. Identify the Pros and Cons though several strategic approach's enabling management to decide the roadmap on achieving the set targets.

- Collect the information and business insights which are subjected to interest & concern area of the company.

- Build strong relationships within each Account by gaining trust at different levels, qualifying the key decision makers and influencers and proposing the right solution from company's portfolio. Develop an in-depth understanding of company's solutions and strategies.

- Design & develop business plan and strategies to bring on and develop new and existing accounts and achieve agreed set sales target. Achieve growth and retention targets.

- Define the point of contact with all the concerning departments enabling the effective liasoning system that includes but not limited to: - Politicians, Unions, Bureaucracy & Clients

- Generate lead through sources such as: Online Tendering Sites, References, Industrial Research, Liasoning & Cold Calls.

- Conduct research and provide all the necessary information to concerning authorities in order to act promptly on leads generated through sources.

- Identify the financial viability of prospective opportunity as well as operational stability.

- Define the business proposals for clients and ensure that it gets submitted within the stipulated timelines and with all the required documents.

- Get updated with latest tendering process and ensure to resolve all the concerns & query through interactive participation in pre bid meetings. Handover all the information & insights to operation team for execution plan. Provide data for informative kick off meeting.

- Ensure effective follow up with internal & external parties in order to adhere to the necessary timelines.

- Take personal responsibility for building and maintaining industry and competitor knowledge. Acquire competitor insight on products, pricing, marketing performance, strengths and weaknesses. Analyse latest market trends & other subjective information on the competition.

- Conduct frequent site survey to identify the current trend and status of the services we are offering (1). Operational (2). Fleet Management (3). Manpower Management.

- Capture feedback from the clients on areas for service improvement and development and provide feedback in structured way to the relevant internal departments.

- Identify the risk and competitors & plan pro-active actions for closing an opportunity.

- Conduct the GAP analysis based on actual status and our standards under consultation of management.

- Conduct the competitor analysis and do the needful changes in proposal as & when required.

- Conduct the lost tender analysis in case if the proposal is not considered by the authority.

- Efficient in making weekly MIS, Forecast sales targets, Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.

Education, Experience & Skills Required

- MBA (Sales/Marketing) degree is mandatory

- Total 8 - 10 years of experience in Business Development department of preferably a Waste Management/ Facility Management/ FMCG. Prior experience in PAN India sales and complete familiarity with the Tender Bidding Process is imperative.

- Must be a business development maverick. High caliber individual who is good with establishing a trusted relationship at a senior level within and outside the organization.

- Applicants must have a Public Sector sales background also and should be able to demonstrate previous success in this sector.

- Sound business acumen & commercial / financial awareness

- Must have excellent leadership, decision making and selling skills

- High integrity level, strong work ethics, diligent and sincere

- Able to demonstrate previous experience of growing and retaining clients

- Excellent time management and organizational skills with experience of managing own time and prioritizing own workload

- Enjoys working on own initiative

- Outstanding communication & persuasion skills with the ability to speak in front of groups and C-Level executives, senior decision makers, public authorities and unions.

Willing to travel extensively within India

Workdays: Work 6 days a week
