Assistant Vice President - KYC - Investment Bank (12-17 yrs)
Responsibilities in the Role :
As Head of KYC Norms and Standardsthe incumbent is responsible for:
This constitutes all the following 4 axis of the Balanced Scorecard:
1. Stakeholder Management
a. Build and oversee strong client/partner relationships for various BLsengaged with and more specifically for BLs for which there is a BLM role
2. Financials and Risk Management
a. Monitor the financials on a monthly basis and ensure the financials are close to the Budgeted values
b. Continuously and closely monitor the risks on operations
c. Review progress on the Audit recommendations (if any)in a timely manner with adequate governance and control
3. Efficiency/ Operational Excellence / Performance Management
a. Monitor performance and service commitments through continuous evaluation, quality assurance and focused improvement efforts
b. Ensure governance that includes compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, global standards and industry best practices for the BLs.
c. Represent SG GSC KTP Norm and Standards team in management update meeting, including SteerCo, OPCO, Regional Stakeholder meetings, etc.
4. Workforce Management
a. Appropriate Hiring plan for your department to deliver the roadmap anticipated as part of the BL strategy and proactive monitoring of its execution of this plan
b. Ensure team's span of control, capacity and skills for better workforce planning
c. In conjunction with HR ensure execution of talent acquisition and talent management programs as per annual plans, to facilitate the achievement of both short term goals and long term strategic objectives.
B. Transformation / Project Management:
Be responsible for transformation and change management for KYC norms and standards
a. Drive the project management to set up the mission statement of the SG GSC KYC norms and standards team in coordination with the stakeholder
b. Design and implement the target processes to deliver the KYC norms and standards
2. People and Organization
a. Ensure a strong succession planning process within department
b. Build capability of direct reports to address current as well as future business plans of the Organization
3. Business development
a. Constantly evaluate new opportunities that will help the client
b. Propose/build new services that will add value to SGGSC
a. Promote a culture of strong constant evolution and innovative thinking. Contribute to GSC's innovation initiatives. Proactively drive initiatives on future challenges for GSC
b. Ideate / seek and/or collate feedback from employees of departmenton GSC roadmap; convert them into actionable initiatives and build strong business casesfor execution
C. Talent Management:
a. Ensure team's performance capability and competency level for optimal performance.
b. Mentor and coach direct reports and assist direct reports in managing their teams.
c. Define & implement methods to increase retention, increase levels of engagement within the Function. Analyze causes for attrition; find solutions and improvements to keep attrition low or in line with organizational targets.
d. If and when applicable (teams split btw Pritech, Voyager and Chennai), develop specific managerial practices around remote teams management and role model them
e. Focus on and ensure achievement of Diversity related objectives for GSC.
f. Build a performance oriented culture within the function; ensuring the correct message on the significance of merit and contribution is sent across during Reward and Recognition exercises
g. Strong collaboration for mapping skills, mobility possibly with the Business Line
h. Ensuring sound mapping of individual skill levels, abilities & aspirations against identified needs.
i. Initiate adequate training programs to induct and develop staff across: new joiners, reinforcing operational excellence for production staff, building expertise and developing managers
j. Be selective in Talent identification and ensure specific actions are implemented for AST groups. Showcase the Talent in your BL across the organization as well across Global BL and GSC to ensure appropriate positioning and contribute to Talent sourcing and Diversity objectives / targets of departments

- Masters Degree in Business, Computersand/or Bachelors in Technology, CA, ICWA
- Experience and strong expertise on KYC norms and standards in global banking organizations
- Successful customer service track record and the ability to foster a service oriented work environment
- Good analytical skills
