Assistant Vice President - Finance - ACCA/CA (7-12 yrs)

The candidate will overall be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of a company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk and governance as well as negotiations. The CFO job description will also extend to obtaining and maintaining investor relations and partnership compliance.

The goal is to protect the company's revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth.

Job role:

- Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team.

- Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team

- Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting

- Responsible for ensuring the risk and compliance management framework is embedded and operational for the Group

- Continually reviews work practices and procedures for better operational efficiency; and potential issues in accounts, financial processes and controls and proactively raise management attention to act and resolve

- Advising on long-term business and financial planning

- Provide commercial insight and leadership across the business in order to exceed business plan targets

- Establishing and developing relations with senior management, external partners and stakeholders

- Reviewing all formal finance, HR and IT related procedures

Key Skills:

- University degree in accounting or with ACCA and a CA/CPA.

- At least 7+ years of financial/project management/accounting experience within an international organization, multinational company, University or charity with complex donor requirements.

Required Skills and Competencies:

- Developed financial management/accounting skills are essential.

- Strong analytical skills with an ability to set priorities.

- Good knowledge of GAPP, IAS, SAS and IFRS

- Self-starter with strong organizational skills.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills

- Must be able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgement.

Working Relationships:

Internal - Works closely with the CEO, Leadership team and the Finance & Administration team

Interacts with the Board of Directors and the trustee members.

External - With outsourced corporate services company, donors, partners, auditors.
