Assistant Vice President - Credit Metrics Group - Bank/Financial Services (8-12 yrs)

- The Credit Metrics Group (RISQ/CMG) is a multi-stakeholder team within the Risk division (Second line of defense) supporting the credit risk analysts (Retail & Non-retail) located in AMER/EUROPE/ASIA through the production of credit risk dashboards, monitoring of credit Limits and certification of credit risk data.

- CMG is a multidisciplinary and passionate team dedicated to Risk, which includes experts such as Business analysts, Data analysts/Engineers/wranglers - able to conduct complex & innovative initiatives.

- This group is centrally placed in GSC under RISQ organization. Hierarchically Head of CMG would report to Head RISQ GSC. Team size at inception would be around 5 -1O FTE.

Operational Role :

The roles and responsibilities as Head of Credit Metrics group are as below:

- Manage a team of Experts in credit risk, producing various metrics for the use of Analysts present in different locations globally.

- Support the credit risk teams on a day-to-day basis in their risk process evolution.

- Plan deliverables of various metrics in accordance with standards & KPI.

- Identify opportunities that can be potential scope of CMG and propose the management.

- Position CMG in conjunction with the Business Risk pillars, Data office and IT Teams.

- Standardization & Automation: Keep ideating towards standardizing the various reports and metrics produced across risk pillars, Regions/entities, also achieve high level of automation in bringing operational efficiency.

- Understand and foster knowledge on risk management related to products & portfolio.

- Develop expertise to provide business commentaries on movements noticed in the metrics, untoward swings, limit breaches etc.

- Facilitate the Identification / prioritization of data quality problems from Risk teams (problems detected in production or in ongoing projects) analyze them, estimate the financial or any other issues in relation to the operations and identify the teams in-charge of the remediation.

Managerial Responsibilities:

- Prior experience handling Team size of around 15-25 FTE, comprising Experts & analysts.

- Develop - Risk Management mindset- within the team

- Ability to cascade strategy to the team and motivate them around it.

- Develop and manage individuals identified as Successors.

- Anticipate and implement measures to secure organizational needs and attrition for your critical position.

- Maintain a high level of engagement within the business lines, ensure that the team is well engaged on organizational and transformation topics.

- Hire the right profiles for the roles below and grow the team. Ensure that there is a good talent pool.

- Ability to work in an ambiguous environment.

- Demonstrate leadership courage.

Technical and Functional Skills

Education / Certifications: Graduate / Master's in Finance with certification like FRM (added value)

Functional Skills: Knowledge of Credit risk processes and framework. Having a good knowledge on the Credit risk flow & governance. Worked in continuous improvement projects, automation projects involving BI/AI/ML techniques.

Experience: Around 8+ years of relevant experience handling Risk reporting activities (market or credit) within a Bank or Financial Institution
