JOB DESCRIPTION :

Designation: Assistant Manager

Job Location: Mangalore.

Department: EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability)

Job Purpose: Lead Process Safety

- To Work on PSM Excellence implementation and needs identification to comply with PSM requirements.

- Taking lead in Process Safety Management (PSM): Process Safety Information (PSI), Process Risk Assessment (PRA)/HAZOP, Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR)

- Provide training to employees and assure understanding and compliance with Process Safety Management Standards and local process safety requirements

- Assist plant in leading Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) and PRA for major risk projects by providing expert support in PHA/PRA methodologies

- Participate in Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) prior to startup of new or modified processes or equipment or after extended shutdown of equipment. Periodically review site PSSRs for quality and completeness.

- Provide EHS support for the review and assessment of capital projects for PSM related requirements

- Interpret the Process Safety Information (PSI) of the processes and prepare Hazard details of all raw materials used to educate the shop floor team

- To assess the requirement and procurement of all PPE's required for the Site based on the hazards of the chemicals used

- Actively participate in all the KAVACH implementation related initiatives at Site

Key Responsibilities:

- Identification of Unsafe Act/ Condition, Incident/Accident/First aid and reporting in the Incident portal; supporting for Incident Investigation and escalating to the Site Management.

- Performing safety review of all qualification documents

- PEP Talks/ TBT to the production team to be delivered during shift operations

- Issuing and ensuring the Work Permits are strictly adhered to the permit conditions.

- All the critical process activities in Production and Warehouse to be monitored, advise and train the Production team on the Safety front.

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance during the operations to be ensured

- Ensuring ERT availability and Fire Hydrant Operator in the site during shift operations

- Ensuring all the emergency equipment like Eye and Body wash shower, Fire Extinguishers, emergency cupboard etc. are available as per the requirement.

- Support the Shift In-charge/Incident Controller in case of emergency during Shift Operations.

Educational Qualification: B. Tech - Chemical Engineering

Technical/functional Skills: Authorized Safety Diploma certification

Experience: 8 to 10 Years
