Assistant Manager/Manager - UK Tax

Job description:

- Preparation of UK investment partnership returns on CCH / Alphatax and collating all information to enable submission of a full return (i.e obtaining appropriate UTRs)

- Preparation of detailed excel working papers supporting UK partnership returns (on all four bases of taxation)

- Preparation of individual partner statements

- Preparation of carried interest allocations (base cost calculations, disclosures, income based carries interest calculations)

- Review the limited partnership agreement of each fund to ensure working papers and returns are prepared in accordance with profit sharing arrangements outlined

- Responsibility for ensuring compliance work completed in adherence with the firms QRM procedures.

- Attendance at internal/ external planning meetings and/ or calls

- Preparation of draft initial information request to client, and initial review of information provided by client

- Maintenance of client file/ audit trail for all work in organisation's specified format

- Support Senior Manager team with technical and ad hoc client queries

- Submission of tax returns package once review process and relevant authorisations etc obtained

Minimum criteria:

- Recognized tax and/ or accountancy qualification

- At least 3 years experience in UK tax (both personal tax and corporate tax experience preferred), and experience of working as part of one team across different time zones

- Experience in preparing investment partnership returns and additional reporting requirements for investment partnerships brought about by Finance Act 2018 is strongly desired

- Proficient in using MS Excel
