About Ummeed: India has over 50 million children with disabilities under the age of 15. With access to appropriate health, intervention, education, recreation and livelihood services they can be supported to become productive members of the society. Today most of them have limited or no access to relevant knowledge and services as the number of organizations and professionals in the space are inadequate to meet the need. Ummeed, a premier non-profit organization for children with disabilities in India, was founded in 2001 by Dr. Vibha Krishnamurthy, a developmental pediatrician. Ummeed supports children with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential and be included in society by providing family-centered care to children with developmental disabilities and their families. As an organization with a workforce of ~100 committed professionals, Ummeed's transdisciplinary approach works towards: - Supporting children in overcoming their disabilities through direct clinical services and helping families in their journey towards acceptance and empowerment - Building a network of trained professionals and community workers who can prevent, diagnose, and manage developmental disabilities effectively - Changing societal attitudes towards becoming more inclusive towards children with disabilities. About the Position: The Finance team at Ummeed is responsible for Accounting, Taxation, Banking, Compliance, Budgets, MIS and Risk Assessment The Assistant Manager / Manager will play an important role in the Finance team in working on budgets, periodic MIS and donor reports. In addition to reporting role, the candidate is expected to analyze the reports, assess trends and suggest risk mitigation. He/ She would also be required to periodically present the reports to senior management and also work with senior management teams. Primary Responsibilities: - Prepare Annual budgets for Ummeed - Track performance against budgets at end of every quarter - Prepare quarterly MIS and analyse performance - Prepare donor budgets in consultation with the FR-DM team and track them - Prepare fund utilization statements for donors - Analyse trends in revenue and costs, suggest improvements as required - Review the internal control system periodically along with COO - Compare financials of Ummeed with leading organizations and assess any learnings from the same - Coordinate with the FR-DM team for any ad hoc donor reports - Support automation in the Finance department Minimum Qualifications: - We are looking for a candidate with post graduate degree in Cost Accounting, Chartered Accountancy or MBA in Finance - 4 to 6 years- relevant work experience Essential Skills Required: - Expertise in management reporting and financial analysis - Proficiency in Tally ERP 9 and in MS Excel - Ability to work hands-on in MS Excel and PowerPoint - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams - Attention to detail and strong organization skills - Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality of information Why Ummeed?
