Assistant Manager - Lean Consulting - Insurance (3-5 yrs)

The position is with a Captive of a Major US Based Global Insurance Provider.

The selected candidates will be part a team which drives Lean initiatives targeting business process enhancements, reduced number of errors and faster cycle times resulting in greater efficiencies and lower costs globally.

The nature of work will include (but is not limited to) current state assessment and business process analysis to gain a clearer understanding of strengths of the current business environment, identify issues, challenges and gaps in the current processes, and finally make recommendations for activities which are designed to improve the processes and help gain process efficiencies and cost reductions

The candidate should be open and willing for short international travel as required.

Job Responsibilities :

- Analyze current work practices to identify areas for improvement and educate as to how to improve business processes. Devise and test solutions and roll out new ways of working

- Perform work place audits and streamlining processes within area of responsibility

- Process mapping, value stream mapping, identifying inefficiencies in productivity with a particular focus on layouts and sequencing

- Deploy appropriate methodologies to problem solving and support teams to solve problems.

- Ensure the escalation process for problem solving is effective

- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems

- Carry out time and motion studies to support productivity improvements

- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance

- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department

- Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them

Education : Graduate/Post Graduate preferred 

Experience : - 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role in Financial Services, (preferably Insurance Industry ) in Operations Consulting domain

Knowledge & Skills :

- Good understanding of the Lean/Six Sigma / TQM toolbox

- Flexible regarding hours of work and locations of work

- Strong communication skills and communicates well with all levels

- Ability to train and develop

- Good influencing and Interpersonal skills

- High willingness to learn

Other Requirements : Lean / Six Sigma / Black Belt certification preferred
