Position Specification : Assistant Manager - Industrial Relations

- Our client is one of the fastest growing foods businesses in India, driven by the market standing and consumer franchise of its popular brands - Aashirvaad, Bingo! Sunfeast, Fabelle, Sunbean, Yippee! Kitchens of India, B Natural, ITC Master Chef, Farmland, mint-o, Candyman and GumOn.

- Their Foods business is today represented in multiple categories in the market - Staples, Spices, Biscuits, Confectionery & Gums, Snacks, Noodles & Pasta, Beverages, Dairy, Ready to Eat Meals, Chocolate, Coffee and Frozen Foods.

Role :

- Discuss analysis with the HR head and make recommendations/ corrective actions

- HR Budgeting : Monitor and review budget on a periodic basis; Analyze and resolve any budget related issues

- Manpower Planning : Review manpower numbers suggested by factory HR based on the production plan for relevant categories

- Industrial Relations (includes statutory compliance) : Coordinate with factory HR for approval by government authorities

- In case of dismissal/discharge, Review case history of the workman

- Contract Labor Management : Review contract labor agreements; Seek legal opinion if required; Review contract labor report and key indices (e.g. wastage, utilization, cost etc.)

- Plant Administration Management : Monitor and review plant administration costs and requirements (canteen, transport etc.) on a periodic basis

- Compensation (factory workforce) : Review compensation survey output and recommendations prepared by factory HR

- Discuss recommendations with HR Head, Category team/ DMC for approval

- Communicate the finalized recommendations for rollout to respective factory HR

- Benefits (factory workforce) : Communicate revisions in benefits to factory HR;

- Monitor and review implementation of benefits and resolve escalated issues (if any)

- Training and Development (factory workforce) : Identify behavioural training needs

- Design modules for behavioral training with inputs from factory HR

- Coordinate and finalize dates for training

- Performance Management(factory workforce) : Define the performance management system (processes/ formats/ guidelines) for factory workforce

- Periodically review implementation of the performance management system at various plants

- HR Policy Design and Revision : Communicate changes received in HR policy from corporate HR to employees

- Rewards and Recognition (factory workforce) : Provide inputs on rewards and recognition schemes designed by factory

- Exit Management (factory workforce) : Prepare exit management guidelines applicable to workmen at ITC factories and communicate to factory HR

- Employee Engagement(factory workforce) : Prepare and seek approval from relevant authorities

- Training of workmen and Managers': Monitor and periodically review plan Vs actual training man hours of workmen and managers'. Discuss with HR

- Manager with relevant action plan, if any.

- Periodical meetings with managerial stakeholders in the shop floor.

- Monitor and review implementation and resolve issues if any

Essential :

- Knowledge of labour laws/regulations;

- Knowledge of external labour market (e.g. IR situations; labour availability etc.);

- Knowledge of HR operations at factory (e.g. attendance, leave, contract labour management);

- Knowledge of production plan and manufacturing processes
