We are currently looking for an Assistant Manager- Supply Chain Management position with the topmost FMCG Conglomerate in India. The position is to be based at KOLKATA.

JOB PURPOSE:

To carry out supply chain planning, production planning, materials planning and revisit the existing supply chain system & implement best practices including SAP.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To carry out manufacturing planning on the basis of FG inventories and the sales estimates.

- To carry out the Materials planning to meet the Manufacturing requirement.

- To apply best practices in Supply chain planning across the chain so that fluctuations across can be evened out. All such improvements to be implemented through SAP.

- To set up systems to optimize the levels of inventory of FG at the WSP's and different PCP warehouses to improve the availability of the product with minimum inventory cover.

- To optimize the freight cost by taking overall view of the location of manufacture, RM/PM freight costs and FG freight costs.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

- To be able to allocate the program based on sound understanding of cost implications of freight, excise and applicable taxes.

- Expertise in understanding & using SAP.

- Knowledge of local taxes and duties applicable in India.

- Understanding of Plant and Machinery installed factories and their capacities, flexibility and limitations.

- Understanding of seasonal trends in market as well as seasonal limitations in manufacturing units on account of festivals and other cultural reasons resulting in absenteeism and availability of road transport etc.

- Familiarity and working knowledge of best practices in Supply Chain management.

CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS:

- Good analytical skills and comfort with numbers and data

- Good negotiation skills

- Networking skill to manage information across function / location / vendors.

Qualifications :

- MBA in Operations and SCM from NITIE/ SP Jain/ IITs 2014/2015/ 2016 batches will be preferred.

- Supply chain experience in a Manufacturing plant coupled with experience in a corporate role is highly desirable.
