Assistant Manager - Finance (Capex & Expense Management)

Reports to: Head Finance

Location: Kolkata (Onsite)

Function Finance & Accounts

Company Description

Our client is an omni-channel, hybrid food & grocery retailer focused on providing deep value to middle India consumers. The company is building its network in East & North India to serve the underserved middle India consumer segment.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Capex accounting

a. Capex procurement

b. Maintenance of asset register and capitalization records

c. Conduct Capex vs. Budget variance analysis and reporting

d. Verification and booking of vendor invoices; enlist and carry out 3rd party capex audits, as required

2. Expense accounting

a. Book operating and other expenses after ensuring:

b. Correct classification, GL mapping, and necessary approvals

c. Compliance with TDS, RCM, and budget guidelines

d. Review expenses to ensure alignment with planned budgets and flag deviations

e. Support month-end closing through accruals and provisioning

f. Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors for audit schedules, reports, and clarifications

g. Engage with business teams to drive timely and accurate expense recognition.

Knowledge / Education

CA with minimum of 2 years of experience
