Assistant Legal Entity Controller (4-8 yrs)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Legal Entity Controller is responsible for entity and department-level accounting, including but not limited to journal entries, analysis and monthly analytics to ensure accurate revenue, expense and balance sheet, and regulatory reporting for the Credit management companies/advisory entities. This position will also provide assistance on Assets Under Management (- AUM- ) and internal management reporting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Prepare daily cash bookings and perform monthly bank reconciliations;
- Ensure proper accounting treatment is applied to all management companies/advisory/GP securitization entity transactions and balances, including management fees, equity method and FV investments, placement fees, transaction and advisory fees, etc.;
- Compile and provide detail support and analyses for internal files and external audit review;
- Continue to advance and improve workflow surrounding monthly and quarterly close process with a focus on automating and streamlining processes;
- Assist with the quarterly pending deal process, which requires strong communication with Deal Professionals and Fund Controllers on allocating deal expenses appropriately;
- Ongoing coordination with Fund Controllers regarding fund related revenue and expenses;
- Coordinate with Corp Financial Reporting team to supply and review quarterly (10Q/10K) filing requirements, including footnote disclosures, MD&A commentary, and other supporting docs;
- Prepare detailed balance sheet and income statement variance and fluctuation analyses in connection with the Earnings Release and 10Q/10K;
- Assist in maintaining a strong SOX controls environment and ensuring proper documentation of our SOX processes and;
