Position Reports into - Strategic Procurement Head
Location - Gurugram
Role - 1
Cost Management & Cost Negotiations with UIL RM Suppliers for commodities &Tier-2 components. It requires Commodity negotiations with RM suppliers- Steel, Aluminium, Copper, Plastics, Rubber, Packaging, Electronics, Electricals, Other commodities.
Significance of this role is to:
- To drive strategic rationalization of RM supplier base of UIL keeping in mind UIL's long term growth aspirations to be met.
- To run cost negotiations/cost improvement programs for these RM suppliers to achieve competitive cost advantage
- To lead discussions with the RM suppliers for long term investments in their factories to have an advantage on technology, cost & speed to market.
- To drive component cost & technology improvements for RM inhouse components.
- To align overall RM supplier strategy as per business requirement of different businesses. To align strategy with the respective business
Job Dimensions :
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- RM supplier strategic long term plan with UIL
- To provide strategic support for regular tier-2 supplier issues faced by other teams
- Raw Material cost sheet management
Skills and Knowledge :- Must be an engineer in Electrical / Mechanical streams with a min experience of 15-20 years in the manufacturing industry predominantly in a negotiation role, preferably RM negotiations.
- Candidates trained with exposure on supplier negotiation programs will be preferred.
- Must have excellent program management skill and hands-on experience of managing multiple sakeholders of conflicting interests
- Proven skills of detailing out micro activities of Cost Management.
- Must have deep knowledge of relevant manufacturing technologies of RM Suppliers.
- Ability to communicate with all levels and having strong problem solving skills.
- Exposure in areas such as product development, VA/VE, alternate source development, supplier development etc.
Role - 2End to end Cost Management & Cost Negotiations with UIL OEM/ODM Suppliers. It requires product value addition negotiation, process cost negotiation, strategic OEM/ODM Supplier account management, overall UIL responsibility of OEM/ODM suppliers.
