AGM/DGM - Purchase - MNC Manufacturing Purpose of the role : The primary function of this position is the timely and cost-effective purchasing of components to support the company's projects &amp; production plans. These activities include but are not limited to; supporting the strategic procurement process, execution of domestic / overseas, supplier agreements to include negotiations, supplier selection/development, and contract management. Working with engineering/project management team to make sure that sourcing activities correspond to project needs. Within an assigned ROLE, this position is responsible for managing and defining the procurement process of necessary components in a timely, economical, and efficient manner in order to meet enterprise goals. Goals are met by implementing and maintaining effective relationships with current Commodity/Category suppliers as well as developing new supply sources within their designated area. Commodity Strategy to be build and aligned globally. Few specific responsibilities : - Supplier Base Management - Development of supplier base thru induction of new suppliers, suppliers up-gradation / consolidation. Long term agreement with suppliers. - New components developments - Development of new components for new products as well for product improvement. - Ensuring active participation of suppliers from design board to ensure meeting cost targets and ease of manufacturability. - To closely work with Supplier development team &amp; pro-actively support in resolving all issues related to Quality &amp; cost. - Generate robust resolution road maps with suppliers that fulfill the company's capacity and delivery needs and ensuring conformance to group wide targets and standards. - To closely work with finance for resolving issues of supplier Debits/Credits wrt. Price changes, recharge to Supplier for Quality &amp; expedite debits. - To continuously work for optimizing material cost and creating healthy productivity pipeline to have sustainable cost reduction program by negotiation year on year. - Having good knowledge of relevant industry and supplier base. Minimum Requirements: Education: BE / B Tech from reputed institute Experience: 15 - 20 Years in a similar role from engineering industry Others : - Microsoft Office - SAP knowledge preferred - Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. - Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
