Assistant General Manager - Administration & Industrial Relations - Manufacturing (17-23 yrs)

Preferred: Retired Major or Col.

This Job entails the candidate to have a broad spectrum of knowledge in various operational functions of the HR & IR department. He will be in charge of the day-to-day management and administration of HR/IR operations including employee management of the Plant/site, coaching and counseling and ensuring that all employees follow the core IR&HR policies of the organization.

Location : Near Kolkata WB

Job Summary:-

- To take care of all administrative activities of the Plant/site.

- To Handle all Labour & Unions IR issues.

- Responsible for the proper maintenance of all assets at site.

Essential Duties

- IR strategic planning,

- Negotiation & Liasoning (Internal & External)

- Policies and processes

- Maturely and sensitively address escalations of employee grievances & Unions and policy.

- Coaching and counseling (Internal & External) - escalations and their managers

- Plan Training & Development initiatives (all levels) and streamline execution

- Crisis management and proactive mitigation of the same.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

- Solid knowledge in the field of IR operations and execution

- Post Graduation in HR (MBA/PGDHRM)

Professional Experience:

- Ex retired army officer from the rank of Lt. Col.

- Must have worked as Head IR for any Huge Manufacturing Industry for last 3 years in Bengal.

- Must have a background in performance management, policies, and processes.

- Optimally should have experience in Plant with 1000+ employees and active Unions.

- Experience in framing, administering and executing IR functions in Top level.

- Strong understanding of various IR&HR policies and practices. Should know various Union Leaders name

Skills Required:

- Excellent Communication & negotiation skills - should have strong, clear and crisp verbal articulation skills and very strong documentation skills.

- Very strong Interpersonal Skills - ability to listen to employees is critical, with the capacity to truly comprehend, be seen as approachable, and act as a coach, inspiring confidence with ability to help

- Strategic thinking skills - Ability to manage other managers, handle difficult IR situations while remaining forward looking and very positive.

- Ability to lead by example - Candidate should support organizational norms, possess self-discipline and lead IR best practices

- Adaptability - The ability to adapt is essential with the capacity to anticipate possible new opportunities or mitigate potential challenges.

- Understand the changing and evolving IR&HR landscape, new developments with the ability to identify which may be relevant for their implementation

- Crisis Management - The individual must possess the ability to identify and resolve situations quickly, taking ownership of employee concerns and working cooperatively with others to resolve escalations involving other departments or with Sr Management for more complex issues

- Strong knowledge of excel - Ability to create or guide other team members to prepare high impact IR reports using pivot tables, etc

- Should have a high degree of integrity, forward thinking, positive and pro-active in anticipating organizational needs

- Independently & successfully handling of Various Settlements with more than two Unions.
