KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Tax & Compliance Assistant Controller ASSC is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:
- Perform assigned balance sheet reconciliations
- Posting, reporting & any other work associated with dormants & non-trading entities
- Ensure all tax and corporate tax findings are filed and provisioned for
- Plan and prepare draft statutory accounts with clear and concise working files.
- Sign off draft statutory accounts.
- Assist with internal audit as part of the statutory audit requirements.
- Complete transfer pricing and deal with related queries.
- Ensure that all indirect tax queries are resolved.
- Assist with ad hoc queries where appropriate.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team workload management .
- Motivate team to ensure performance metrics s are hit.
- Support communication structures across the team to ensure all key messages are communicated .
- Provides coaching on both soft and technical skills within the team.
- Participate in Recruitment & Selection processes.
- Act as a role model to others.
- Team admin duties such as absence management, holiday authorizations, time sheet approvals etc.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to oversee, motivate and manage people in a Tax & Compliance environment.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essential.
- Good communication skills at all levels including a wide range of stakeholders within the business.
- Knowledge and ability to use relevant internal systems.
- Act with integrity.

- Be pro-active and take initiative.
- Good influencing skills.
- Highly organised, diligent with attention to detail.
- Demonstrable success in improving Tax & Compliance service levels.
KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of all Tax & Compliance/Financial Accounting processes including best practice in Tax & Compliance/Financial Accounting, people, processes and technology.
- Significant knowledge of SAP system.
- Good knowledge of leadership, coaching and people development .
- Recognized qualification/Accounting degree preferable .
- A track record of continuous professional and management development .
- Knowledge of dealing with acquisitions and disposals.
- 4 years relevant Tax & compliance/accounting experience.
- Knowledge of lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
