Job Description: Assistant Category Manager

We, are building the largest distribution platform of its kind, providing businesses a channel to distribute and market their content/apps/stores and reach our millions of digital-savvy users. As we continue to scale and embark on our next phase of growth, we are looking for creative, entrepreneurial and customer centric folks to join our team as Assistant Manager and help us build the first and biggest payments platform in India

The role :

- Being an Assistant Category Manager is about helping build a value centric platform for both businesses and users for the particular category/use-case.

- This would require you to work closely with various cross functional teams to scale and improve the experience, product features and services that help increase partner satisfaction, improve customer experience and grow the category P&L. (You will be a part of the PhonePe Switch Business team)

What to expect from this role:

Responsibilities :

- Work with the Category head to drive growth & revenue for the category through building relevant - Selection- and growing merchant partners business on PhonePe Switch

- Develop a deep understanding of the markets, trends and consumer behaviour, to shape the category strategy

- Conduct market research to identify potential merchant partners/categories

- Ownership of category related marketing activities and user communication

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams- marketing, business finance and operations to lead category specific initiatives

- Program management of operational processes for merchants

- Ownership of product operations to improve customer experience

- Ownership of merchandising for the respective category

- Active monitoring of commercial performance for the category

- Deep understanding of consumer business and prior experience in driving category business in a relevant space/organization will be a plus.

- A good mix of intuition & analytical decision making. Should be comfortable with data analysis.

- Passion for solving problems creatively, starting small, failing fast, and applying learnings.
