Purpose : This role rests in design team within the dcor vertical of Asian paints. The team is responsible for all creative and critical design initiatives for the vertical. The role will focus on the design developmental of furniture ranges under AP label Roles and Responsibilities : - Owning up the technicalities of the fitted and loose AP label furniture - Material specification and engineering of the products. - Work with the vendor to get the designs to prototypes using best techniques and review the production output for first few orders. - Creating ready reckoners like detailed shop drawings and specification sheets and material palettes - Work with existing manufacturing partners to prepare and refine technical drawings, improve constructional techniques for cost optimization, prototype and production. - Working closely with the technology team to build a robust system for frontend visualization and backend process integration. - Creation of metadata for ingesting into the technology platforms - Supporting other teams for content creation. - Work closely with regional sales teams for consumer needs research and regional taste understanding - Explore new concepts/material mix/construction techniques that would differentiate our offering from the competition. - Work with the field readiness team for training content Desired Candidate Profile : - Knowledge of furniture design associated materials and manufacturing processes. - Know-how of the hardware, structural strength and stability of materials. - Exposure to panel craft machinery equipment and production processes is a must. - Ability to produce cutlists and bill of materials. - Understanding of design to manufacturing softwares is a plus. - Ability to work in team & ability to build on others idea
