Job Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced and qualified GST Manager to lead our taxation team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all GST-related activities, ensuring compliance with GST laws, and managing the filing of GST returns.
- You will play a critical role in managing input tax credit reconciliation, handling notices and appeals, and maintaining positive relations with the GST department.
- This role also involves advising on GST optimization and ensuring efficient taxation processes within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- GST Returns Filing: Supervise and review the monthly filing of GST returns for the company and its clients, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Input Tax Credit Management: Monitor and reconcile the input tax credit between books of accounts and GSTR-2B/GSTR-2A, identifying and rectifying discrepancies or mismatches.
- Notices and Appeals: Handle complex GST notices and appeals, draft effective replies and submissions, and represent the company or clients before the GST authorities when necessary.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with the GST department, external authorities, and stakeholders for queries, audits, assessments, and registrations.
- Effectively negotiate and settle any disputes in a timely manner.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and maintain financial records in compliance with GST norms.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all GST transactions.
- Regulatory Updates & Training: Stay up-to-date with the latest changes in GST and customs laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance and training to the taxation team and other staff on these matters.
- Process Improvement: Implement controls and process improvements to enhance GST compliance and efficiency within the team.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present reports on GST performance, offering strategic recommendations on GST planning and optimization for the company and its clients.
Requirements:
- Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in GST and indirect tax matters, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of GST and customs laws, rules, and procedures.
- Ability to interpret and apply them in various scenarios.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
- Familiarity with the GST portal and other online platforms.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Fluency in Hindi and other regional languages would be advantageous.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively, collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
