Job Overview:
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager GST to lead our taxation team and oversee all GST-related functions.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely filing of GST returns, managing input tax credits, resolving GST-related notices and appeals, and maintaining strong relationships with the GST department and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:.
- Supervise and review the monthly filing of GST returns for the company and its clients, ensuring compliance with all applicable GST laws and regulations.
- Monitor and reconcile input tax credits between books of accounts and GSTR-2B, GSTR-2A.
- Identify and rectify discrepancies or mismatches as required.
- Handle complex GST-related notices, assessments, and appeals.
- Prepare and draft replies and submissions effectively.
- Represent the company or its clients before the GST authorities when necessary.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the GST department and other relevant authorities for queries, audits, assessments, or registrations.
- Timely negotiation and resolution of disputes.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all GST transactions, complying with GST norms and accounting standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in GST and customs laws.
- Provide guidance to the taxation team and implement process improvements for efficient compliance.
- Prepare detailed reports and analysis on GST performance and its impact on the company and clients.
- Offer strategic recommendations on GST planning and optimization.
- Lead and mentor the taxation team, ensuring they are equipped to manage their roles effectively and efficiently.
- Train staff across departments on GST-related matters.
Qualifications & Requirements:.
- Educational Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with at least 1 year of experience in GST and indirect tax matters, including 1 year in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Expert understanding of GST and customs laws, rules, and procedures.
- Experience handling GST notices and appeals, including drafting responses and submissions.
- Proficiency in Advanced MS Excel, Tally, Winman, ClearTax, and other relevant accounting software/tools.
- Familiarity with the GST portal and online platforms.
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is required.
- Fluency in Hindi and/or regional languages is an added advantage.
