ARMMAN - Communication Manager (3-4 yrs)

- ARMMAN is an NGO working for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A). Our mission is to identify and address systemic gaps in both health service delivery and community health care seeking practices, adopting a - community needs assessment- method, to reduce maternal, neonatal and child mortality and morbidity in underprivileged urban and rural communities in India. We adopt an evidence-based approach to develop cost-effective scalable programs, with objective outcomes and measurable impact, leveraging technology where necessary and working with the public health system where possible.

- In a short span of 4 years, we have reached across to more than 1.7 million women and their children in 9 states. We currently employ 101 full-time staff. ARMMAN has won multiple accolades for its programs including the WHO Public Health Champion award in 2017 in the innovation category. ARMMAN is the first Indian NGO to receive the GSK-Save the Children Health Innovation Award for mMitra, its at-scale program. It was one of four international awardees in 2017 out of more than 170 applications from 40 countries


- ARMMAN is currently looking to recruit a Communication Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Director (Resource Mobilization & New Initiatives), the Communication Manager will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral for consistent articulation of Armman's work. The Communication Manager will work closely with a senior peer group within the organization as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives. While the key responsibility areas will be communication, the candidate will be a part of the Resource Mobilization team and expected to contribute towards the work of this department, including writing proposals, if and when required.

Salary : 6-7 LPA

Responsibilities broadly include:

- Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications plan across the NGO's Target audiences and stakeholders like Donors, Beneficiaries, Trustees, Consultants, Employees etc.

- Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action. Decide who, where, and when to disseminate.

- Responsible for Armman's social media strategy. Coordinate webpage maintenance- ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly.

- Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, annual reports and the website

- Take the lead of leveraging the PR machinery for image building of ARMMAN and the Founder. Manage all media contacts and interactions.

- Spearhead events and conferences that establish ARMMAN as a thought and action leader in the field of Mother and Child Health.

Candidate specification: The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical.

a) Educational Qualifications and work experience:

- MBA in Marketing/ PG degree in Communications/ Public Relations

- 3-4 yearsin Marketing/ Communication, Brand building and PR initiatives

b) Desirable Soft Skills

- Passion for Social Sector

- Highly collaborative style; experience in developing and implementing communications strategies

- Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills

- A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently

- Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to "manage by influence"

- High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels

- Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
