Area Sales Manager - Mumbai

- We believe there is a huge gap in the retail market for healthy food and snacks for children. We currently sell in 600 retails stores, and are looking to expand to 4000 retail stores across India by the end of this year.

- Within our first year and a half, we reached out to about 200,000 customers on Amazon, BabyChakra and FirstCry, and we are also available on Air Asia and major hotel chains like the Hyatt, Taj Hotels.

It is a health and organic food brand for children. It's our mission to provide tasty and 100% natural alternatives to the junk food that surrounds kids today. We believe that, in many ways, we need to go back to eating like our grandparents did; to the nutritious traditional food that has existed for millennia in India. Thanks to the invaluable support of experts in pediatric nutrition, we help parents fighting the good fight of feeding their children healthy from an early age and making it fun. Most of our foods are made of millets i.e Ragi, Jowar, Bajra and Foxtail Millet.

We launched online across India on Amazon in October 2016. We- re ramping up our online presence and offline distribution to more cities across India in the coming months.

- Responsible for supervising and driving sales team in the assigned region

- Working closely with the National Sales head to drive monthly objectives

- Tracking the productivity of team and ensuring no one is sitting idle

- Meets or exceeds sales targets and goals as agreed initially with Sales head

- Setting up a distribution network in city and ensuring no distribution gaps

- Managing large retailers that contribute disproportionately to sales

- Driving offers and schemes in market basis budget assigned for the month

- Servicing existing retailers and working closely / driving distributors

- Identifying opportunities of growth - apartment campaign, corporate campaign, retailer mela, kiosk activity etc. Passing these to the marketing team to execute.

- Managing team and ensuring people are happy, motivated and aligned with top management

- Creating and sharing weekly /monthly/quarterly reports and analyze the same to understand opportunities

- Recruiting and training sales staff and distributors wherever required.

- Keeping up to date with competition products and other products in related categories

- Building a team and culture that can deliver long term and short term goals

SKILLS REQUIRED

- Must speak Marathi & Gujarati(Preferred)

- Bachelors/Master's degree and overall min 10 years experience

- 5+ years of prior experience in a Retail FMCG role.

- Street smart person with strong relationship building skills.

- Ability to drive and motivate a team of individuals in their language

- Planning and organizational skills

- Good communication skills with top management and reportees.

- Strong integrity and maturity to exercise confidentiality

- Understanding of the food and food retail sector a plus, but not a necessity

- Willingness to hustle and work in a nimble but fast-paced young organization
