About the role:

You will be responsible for overall Architecture & Design of the systems for your area of ownership and will work closely with senior SDEs, product managers and business leaders to conceptualize, build and operate systems and platforms that run the large eCommerce business.

Responsibilities:

- Own the architecture and design of all the systems & microservices to drive business impact

- Work in a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, and business managers to translate product requirements into well- crafted systems and platforms

- Drive and participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architecture reviews of the systems

- Own High Level and Low-Level Design for the systems and do hands on coding for complex modules

- Help build, mentor, and coach a team of talented Engineers, Leads, Quality Engineers, System Operations and DevOps Engineers in architectural and design best practices & engineering methodologies

- Drive and implement the long-term technology vision for the team.

- Represent our company/brand in public technology forums

An Ideal candidate should have:

- 8+ years of industry experience in software engineering in a fast-paced environment, at least 3 years of which as an Architect

- Strong background in programming languages such as Java or JavaScript

- A deep understanding of technologies and architecture in a highly scalable and available set-up

- Should have expertise in solving complex problems around high transactional, distributed systems

- Strong Object-Oriented Skills and ability to design intuitive models

- Track record of re-architecting a monolithic system into distributed, microservices-based system

- Substantial experience in building high scale systems in a B2C business environment

- Knowledge of design and architecture patterns, and uncanny ability to design intuitive module and class-level interfaces and APIs

- Knowledge of TDD or BDD & Docker, Kubernetes

- Experience of building and operating web applications on Cloud like AWS is a plus

- Good understanding of open-source ecosystem as well as experience of building applications using them

- Good written and communication skills

- Experience with contribution to Open-Source Software and/or writing tech blogs and articles is a definite plus

- BE/BTech or equivalent degree in CS/IT from a reputed institute
