JD - Product Due Diligence Specialist

- The Product Due Diligence Specialist is responsible for the production of the requirements related to Fixed Income and Fund Due Diligence PDD to meet HKMA Standards

- To be successful in the role, the incumbent will need to develop strong and highly effective relationship with the Funds Specialist and Fixed Income Specialist teams, and with the Business Management team. The incumbent will need to be task oriented with a keen eye for detail, and be able to independently drive the tasks & deliver results. The incumbent also needs to focus continuously on process improvements to deliver the tasks and drive efficiency.

- The role reports administratively to the Location Manager of the CoE and functionally to nominated Investment Specialist.

KEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION:

People Management;

- Work collaboratively with the Investment Specialists and Business Management Teams

- Motivate and provide guidance/feedback to other team members in the CoE to improve the overall performance & productivity

PDD Management :

- Review the existing PDD database for Fixed Income and Funds for accuracy of content

- Expand the PDD coverage to the offered universe of Fixed Income and Funds

- Build in automation by (a) enhancing the processes for data input and (b) automate data input to the extent possible

- Support the PDD requirements on an ongoing basis, both for incremental securities as well review on a periodic basis

- Support any on-going product universe maintenance and monitoring processes following client defined criteria

- Document the relevant PDD process in policies & procedures

Business Management:

- Work to fulfil the ambitions of the team defined by the functional and administrative supervisors

- Regular review of the function's practices to ensure efficiency and productivity at kept at optimal levels

Compliance & Risk Management :

- Meet all legal, regulatory and compliance standards/requirements

- Adhere to all relevant Local User Manuals

- Ensure timely communication to investment specialists on any PDD related aspects

- Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

Personal and Social:

- Able to work independently and in a global team setup to take on initiatives with a positive attitude

- Able to quickly troubleshoot problems and provide effective solutions

- Fast learner and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

- Good communication/coordination skills to deal with different levels of stakeholders

Professional and Technical:

- Basic fundamentals of Fixed Income and Funds

- Proficiency in Desktop applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc.) and financial information/data systems (e.g. Bloomberg, Datastream, Morningstar etc.)

- Background in basic programming and quantitative analysis (e.g. VBA/Python/SQL etc.) will be preferable

- Represent the client and shareholders- interests at all times

- Strong commercial judgement, business acumen and sound understanding of global investment industry, markets and products

- Language Skills: English (oral and written)

Regulatory :

- Familiar with regulatory expectations and requirements

- Cross border rules and regulations
